The Epstein Files are an interesting resource. They're especially good value for those still trapped in the whole kabuki of liberal democracy, rule of law, just society, meritocracy, party politics, constitutional checks and balances, accountability for crimes, government legitimacy, finance capitalism, etc etc. "Everything you were brought up to believe and trust in turns out to have been a clever lie." Beyond question, the Epstein Files have revealed an extensive multinational cast of incestuous often psychopathic predators — many already known to be prominent players in (mostly criminal or above the law) networks of deeply entrenched insider privilege. Epstein is the tip of the iceberg. Public opinion and prurient social media notwithstanding, however, there's only so far these current archives of redacted (plus over half unreleased) files can go in a legal, criminal accountability sense. Real investigations, questioning, physical arrests, criminal charges, court trials, and eventual convictions need the police and justice officials to take up the task, backed by both executive and legislature, and in full possession of all unedited, uncovered, unredacted materials. At present, the U.S. DOJ and various intelligence agencies are obstructing justice in full public view; and many corrupt politicians and disingenuous journalists are helping them evade responsibility. Will public pressure force the so-called public servants to honestly do their jobs? #EpsteinFiles #HappyValentinesDay

💢 REPORT | U.S. mediators present Hamas with proposal to fully disarm in Gaza: NPR Mediators have delivered a formal proposal to Hamas calling for the “complete handover” and “full decommissioning” of all weapons in Gaza, a senior U.S. official told NPR. 🔹 The plan, reportedly presented in Cairo last week, would require Hamas and all armed groups to give up their weapons to a new governing authority, with officials saying acceptance would unlock large-scale reconstruction of Gaza. 🔹 NPR cited an anonymous Hamas official as describing the proposal as a “take it or leave it” offer and said the group would assess developments in the Iran war before responding. 🔹 Nickolay Mladenov, High Rep. for the Board of Peace and deeply involved in the talks, said the framework requires “one clear choice: full decommissioning by Hamas and every armed group, with no exceptions.” The proposal is part of Trump’s “Board of Peace” initiative, which aims to demilitarize Gaza, deploy a multinational force, and oversee Israeli withdrawal, though efforts have stalled amid the US-Israeli war with Iran.
Nickolay E. MLADENOV@nmladenov

As the blessed days of #Eid are upon us, serious efforts persist to chart a hopeful path for #Gaza. A framework has been agreed by all mediators that can unlock reconstruction, breathe life back into communities, and bring closer to unity and a negotiated resolution of the Palestinian question. It is now on the table. It requires one clear choice: full decommissioning by Hamas and every armed group, with no exceptions and no carve-outs. In this season of hope, may those responsible make the right choice for the Palestinian people. #EidMubarak!

@Ollie_Vargas_ It's a tragedy. Transformed so fucking fast too. 2017 under Correa, Ecuador was safest country in the Americas. What a shame that treacherous bastard Moreno suckered PAIS into handing over power. Blessed by Correa at the time too. LENIN Moreno, pfft.

Ecuador is also suffering electricity blackouts despite facing no sanctions or siege, and despite being an oil producer. The neoliberal regime there has turned the country into a failed state. It now has the highest crime rate in the region and can't keep the lights on.

MiMo-V2-Pro & Omni & TTS is out. Our first full-stack model family built truly for the Agent era. I call this a quiet ambush — not because we planned it, but because the shift from Chat to Agent paradigm happened so fast, even we barely believed it. Somewhere in between was a process that was thrilling, painful, and fascinating all at once. The 1T base model started training months ago. The original goal was long-context reasoning efficiency. Hybrid Attention carries real innovation, without overreaching — and it turns out to be exactly the right foundation for the Agent era. 1M context window. MTP inference for ultra-low latency and cost. These architectural decisions weren't trendy. They were a structural advantage we built before we needed it. What changed everything was experiencing a complex agentic scaffold — what I'd call orchestrated Context — for the first time. I was shocked on day one. I tried to convince the team to use it. That didn't work. So I gave a hard mandate: anyone on MiMo Team with fewer than 100 conversations tomorrow can quit. It worked. Once the team's imagination was ignited by what agentic systems could do, that imagination converted directly into research velocity. People ask why we move so fast. I saw it firsthand building DeepSeek R1. My honest summary: — Backbone and Infra research has long cycles. You need strategic conviction a year before it pays off. — Posttrain agility is a different muscle: product intuition driving evaluation, iteration cycles compressed, paradigm shifts caught early. — And the constant: curiosity, sharp technical instinct, decisive execution, full commitment — and something that's easy to underestimate: a genuine love for the world you're building for. We will open-source — when the models are stable enough to deserve it. From Beijing, very late, not quite awake.

Forgotten about is the fact that the Iranians have a truly serious trump card: cutting cables in the Persian Gulf could inflict enormous financial damage on the monarchies. And restoring them while the war continues would be, to put it mildly, extremely difficult.

We have spent £180m on plans for a tunnel under Stonehenge. The project is now scrapped. You can be for a tunnel & think spending is a good idea (even if you think the cost of planning is silly). You can be against a tunnel & think spending is a bad idea. But *nobody* can be for spending on this scale with zero result. And yet that is a peculiarly British outcome. Nobody will be reprimanded. Nobody will see their career affected. But that’s £180m of taxpayer money just wazzed up the wall. Totally without repercussions. Multiply this by airport expansions & train route plans and Thames crossings and power stations and other examples you can think of yourself, and… soon you’re talking serious money.

💢 Israel says it struck Iranian naval infrastructure in the Caspian Sea for the first time The Israeli military said its air force struck targets on a naval port and base where dozens of vessels were stationed. Fighter jets hit missile ships, support vessels, and patrol boats, including platforms equipped with surveillance systems and anti-submarine weapons. It also said a naval command center and repair and maintenance infrastructure were struck. According to the statement, the port was used for ongoing Iranian naval operations, and the strike aimed to disrupt command and degrade operational capacity in the Caspian Sea. 🎥 Video from Israel’s military.
