I've been looking into the high RAM usage after importing the @Unity SDK for @ResoniteApp.
Turns out the editor will allocate 4454 unique instances of the exact same script icon, taking 2.18 GB of RAM, instead of single 0.5 MB shared instance.
Why Unity?! Why? ;_;

One thing I wish is that people who are passive aggressive or just argue about stuff, rather than being constructive, would take a hint from this.
But it feels a lot of the times they will just double down instead.

With the open sourcing of a bunch of our projects, I've really been enjoying working with the community to resolve a bunch of issues. A lot of our people are very helpful and save me a ton of headaches and time, letting me focus on other things!

They are probably referencing where people in power will say something is fine, even though people underneath will say it's not,

@Frooxius @DIGI__Byte From my understanding, there is no clear way to learn most things, no real tutorials, just "ask someone" and "read the wiki", which last I checked (a few months ago) the wiki didn't really have much in the way of "Guides"

@Frooxius @DIGI__Byte For sake of argument say I know how to upload an avatar in VRChat.
Could I take my vrchat avatar, using the SDK, drag and drop it 1:1 (ignoring shaders). Including things like VRCfury and other setups that require VRC addons for clothes and toggles?
If not, thats the problem.

@Frooxius @DIGI__Byte And what I was meaning, was that gets us the VRC creators. But not the players realistically. Especially with how customized players have their avatars and systems not really able to be ported over nicely without extensive work

@MerithTk @DIGI__Byte Nothing will ever be 100 %. If you set 100 % as a bar for these kinds of things, you will pretty much always fail, because that's impossible to clear with any project.
My point was that you claimed you can *only* bring stuff in by building it in-game.
That's no longer true.

People who "PLAY" VRC are not inherently "creators", they are "expirencers",
A lot of people in resonite are "Makers" or "Tinkerers", they have the mindset to learn the tools given to them.
The UnitySDK helps get VRC players in but not 100%

@DIGI__Byte @MerithTk I think that's a bit of an exaggeration.
I'm not saying it can't be involved l improved, but that's a bit absurd.
Like we got people who never programmed or did anything technical before and they manage to figure things out. Some of them are still in high school.

@Frooxius @DIGI__Byte Honestly I think some in game learning resources linked directly within the default home world would be the best way to go about it. Present it right near the entrance (outside by the door?) and link to some worlds that teach you the foundational knowledge of how to use the tools

@MerithTk @DIGI__Byte That's actually part of the philosophy that started this - education and learning is naturally a social endeavor, so a lot of that is built around this.
If you want to learn on your own there's video tutorials, Wiki and some worlds even.
What resources would you like to see?

@Frooxius If you guys need help migrating to something self hosted, I can help out, I personally run a instance of forgejo with my own runners on my server, since you guys probably already have some kind of dedicated server host...

GitHub is getting more and more unreliable as of late. I'm literally trying to work on a problem right now and the issue tracker will not even load.
Move to GitLab would be a huge undertaking for all our stuff, but it's seeming more necessary as this keeps happening.

@DIGI__Byte @Frooxius Pretty much how it feels, and while this is helped by having community Mentors, (I always see them around!), Resonite can be too much for someone new to just login and experience it, without being bogged down by needing to learn. Or having alot of information thrown at them!

Resonite in its current state feels like a school club that doesn't explain anything, so you gave to have a classmate teach you what the club is about.

@Frooxius @DIGI__Byte Hell, even our monthly big community organized get together is AIMED at people working together to MAKE things, sure things are made and can be expirenced but the onboarding and social elements of Resonite are lacking greatly.

@Frooxius @DIGI__Byte Part2) the reason I haven't been on resonite like I used to is because all the worlds that are typically open day to day are dev worlds. There is no real "push" for the social element of resonite other than "come join me develop things!" When people look for public sessions.
