#ForeverCanadian movement is not standing down. Although Court, for a second time, ruled that there should be no referendum on the separatists’ question, our government sides with 25% over 75% of Albertans. It’s time for our government to listen to the vast majority of Albertans

My friend in the US spouse had a heart attack last week. Thankfully he’s recovering but now the stress of cost has hit their family. They estimate after insurance over $100,000 in medical bills. No Canadian wants American style healthcare. Canadian Forever!! 🇨🇦

The Centurion Project leader, David Parker, who is alleged to have exposed the personal information of nearly 3 million Albertans, is now refusing to cooperate with the ongoing investigation, according to Elections Alberta. This is deeply concerning. Bad actors in our democracy are a danger to us all. Yet Danielle Smith and the UCP government have still failed to take meaningful action to protect Albertans from the potential threat this data breach poses. It is time to put politics aside and act in the best interest of Albertans. Yesterday, the UCP voted down Bill 210, introduced by the Alberta NDP, legislation that would have provided Albertans with basic credit protection services against fraud and identity theft in the event of a data breach. That protection is needed now more than ever. theglobeandmail.com/canada/alberta…

Our city has lost a truly great Calgarian. I was deeply saddened to learn of Morris Dancyger’s passing yesterday. Morris was a remarkable man whose life embodied both the darkest chapters of human history and the extraordinary resilience of the human spirit. As a child, he survived Auschwitz. He came to Calgary to rebuild, and in doing so helped build our city through business, philanthropy, Jewish community leadership, and an enduring commitment to arts and culture. His life was a testament to courage, renewal, and the belief that even after profound suffering, one can still choose to create, contribute, and lift others. I will always remember that Morris was an early supporter of my Ward 11 campaign. At a time when I was still earning trust and finding my footing in public life, his encouragement meant a great deal. But Morris was never the sort to offer support without expectation. He challenged me, particularly on the importance of arts and culture. He pushed me to think more deeply about what makes a city truly great, beyond infrastructure and public services. He believed the arts were central to our civic identity, and he made that case with conviction. That conversation stayed with me. Some of the most important people in public life are those who do more than cheer you on. They challenge your assumptions and expand your perspective. Morris did that for me. His advocacy was matched by action. From helping bring Contemporary Calgary to life, to decades of leadership in the Jewish community, healthcare, education, and philanthropy, his fingerprints are all over this city. After enduring humanity at its worst, he still chose to invest in beauty, community, and hope. On behalf of the people of Calgary, I extend my deepest condolences to Ann, Howard, Lisa, and the entire Dancyger family. Morris was a builder in every sense of the word. He built a family. He built institutions. He helped build modern Calgary. His life carried both weight and grace. May his memory be a blessing, and may we honour him by building a city worthy of the faith he placed in it.

@JeromyYYC Mayor, your brief interview on Global about "kids biking to school" isn't valid IMO as parents are driving them.

Bike lanes don't belong everywhere. I'm fine with them where they make sense, particularly routes kids take to school. UCP property tax hike is the biggest in Calgary's history. Would be nice to see us both focus on affordability and essential infrastructure. #yyccc #ableg

Disappointed to see Mayor Farkas choose more traffic jammed one lane roads with no street parking for Calgarians. This from someone constantly demanding more provincial dollars for road and other city infrastructure. Methinks he should rethink his priorities.

I need people to understand this is not “fake outrage” to me. There is a lifelong restraining order against my adopted parents for severe abuse. And this was not ancient history. Nine years ago, my children and I became victims of him again. We ended up in the hospital. For nearly a decade, I have deliberately lived in secure condo buildings where I can see who is at the door before they ever get near me or my children. Only in the last couple of years have I started to relax enough to believe he could not find us. So when politicians and their insiders mock Albertans for being terrified over a massive data breach, understand this: Some of us are not afraid of embarrassment.
We are afraid of being found. It takes enormous courage for survivors to speak publicly about this.
But apparently some people in power still think this is all just politics. #ableg

Dear @MikeEllis, Premier @DanielleSmith, and @NaheedNenshi, I am writing to express how deeply frightened I am following the recent revelations surrounding the Alberta data breach involving millions of Albertans’ personal information. I am someone who has intentionally maintained an unpublished address for personal safety reasons stemming from past abuse. Like many survivors, privacy is not a convenience for me. It is protection. It is security. It is peace of mind. Since learning about this breach, I have been living with a constant sense of fear that my abuser may now be able to locate me. The emotional impact of that possibility is difficult to put into words. Survivors of abuse spend years rebuilding safety and stability, and breaches like this can instantly destroy that sense of security. What concerns me most is that many vulnerable Albertans may not even realize the potential risks they now face. This is not just about leaked information. It is about real people, real families, and real safety consequences. I am asking all levels of leadership to take this matter with the seriousness it deserves: • full transparency regarding what information was exposed, • immediate protections and support for vulnerable individuals, • accountability for how this occurred, • and stronger safeguards to ensure this never happens again. Albertans deserve to know that their government understands the gravity of what has happened, especially for women, survivors of domestic violence, and anyone who relies on privacy for their personal safety. I am terrified, and I know I am not the only one. Sincerely, Cassandra Raugust Calgary, Alberta

My daughter is 11. She came out of gymnastics last week and told me a new coach called her “too heavy,” compared her to another child (who was 8) and treated her differently. He refused to spot her. Let that sink in. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my daughter. She is strong, muscular, and healthy - and she’s at an age where her body is naturally changing. Comments like that are not just inappropriate, they’re harmful. I reported it. He’s gone. Terminated. When they found out they were furious. But this is exactly how it starts - girls being taught to question their bodies, their worth, their place. I’m proud of her for speaking up. I’m not okay with the fact that she had to. This still happens. Right here in Canada. In 2026. So gross.
