This is the face of Texas "justice" under Ken Paxton: Adam Dean Hoffman, the pedophile who repeatedly sexually abused his own son's young best friend for three years, walking free after barely two months in county jail. Paxton's office — the same one that loves to brag about 25-, 40-, and 55-year sentences for other child sex offenders — cut this monster a sweetheart deal: dropped felony continuous sexual abuse charges down to two measly misdemeanors, originally pushed for just 30 days (or even one day), no sex offender registry required, and only a 5-year law license suspension. The judge had to step in and double the jail time to 60 days because Paxton's proposal was that grotesque. Hoffman just got out early for "good behavior." No real consequences. No public label. No real barrier to being around kids again. And he's still a "lawyer" at heart. This isn't "sparing the victim trauma." This is the powerful protecting their own — a connected Waco attorney getting the kid-glove treatment while everyday Texans rot for far less. Paxton, Trump's hand-picked Senate candidate, talks tough on crime and "protecting children" until it's one of the good ol' boys club. Then it's two months and a wink. Texas deserves better than a top cop who thinks child rape is a 60-day misdemeanor. Fire Paxton. Demand real accountability. And never forget: this is what "family values" looks like when the defendant has the right friends. Disgusting.
