@Farzin21 We can't count on Rice past this year though and they have a good track record of developing DBs. My hope in the first round is that we get Edge and WR in any order. Rest of the draft can be getting CB, S, TE, OT and depth

I’m seeing a lot of people say “give Patrick Mahomes a true No. 1 WR for years to come” with the 9th pick. Kansas City’s WR room does need help. While I like Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson, the Chiefs have far bigger needs on defense. I still think the Chiefs can get through this season and win with the receivers they have right now for a few reasons. 1. I still think Rice, Worthy and Thornton have potential. They’re talented players who were guided by the wrong WR coach and OC. 2. The Chiefs hired offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and WR coach Chad O’Shea. Both coaches are massive upgrades at those coaching positions compared to who the Chiefs had before. 3. A good running game opens up the passing game, and Kenneth Walker is a massive upgrade for the Chiefs. Defenses last year weren’t concerned against the Chiefs running backs and were focused more on their receivers. Yes, there were some overthrown passes to where Mahomes and his targets weren’t in sync, and I think a new OC will help nullify those mishaps, but I also think Walker’s presence will help the Chiefs wide receivers a lot.

Royals lose today and they're probably looking at being 7-15 by the end of next Sunday. Just pathetic baseball so far. When they pitch they can't hit and when they hit like today, the pitching can't get anyone out.

@igobychris21 @bturner23 No, you save the last foul to give for an actual attack, where the defender starts to get beat, then foul…that way you don’t put them on the FT line…it was not executed well.

Nitpicking here but I hated how quickly they fouled on the first few fouls when they had a bunch to give. They were fouling St John’s right after the catch 90 feet away from the basket…make them dribble it to half court. There legitimately could’ve been a scenario where they fouled them enough & wasted enough clock that the time just expired and went to OT

@bturner23 Team is so soft, can’t shoot, won’t move the ball. St John’s bullying us bigtime already.

My goodness. I’d love to get my hands on some of these teams spacing. Retirement gig. Go around and spend a few days after watching film and go in and work on spacing help.

Good thread and advice, a lot of HC’s and assistants struggle with these thoughts and conversations, I’ve been blessed to be in great positions the last 25 years. Surround yourself/be around great people and coaches that you can trust to sharpen you!

Most assistant coaches avoid tough conversations with their head coach. Then wonder why they're not developing or advancing. Here are the conversations you need to have (even though they're uncomfortable): 🧵

Remember that behind every job opening, there is a coach with a spouse/partner, kids, family, players, etc. who also suffer silently behind the scenes. We all know the nature of this business, but it always sucks to see it happen to good people.
