the new CLARITY Act is better than ever on respecting 'decentralization' (loosely speaking) & gets rid of the 'we didn't promise anything so now we're unregulated' loophole many of us were worried about
it replaces the corporate style 'common control' test with 'coordinated control', which in theory will be a harder standard to meet (up to the SEC to ultimately define it, but the criteria it must consider are quite robust)..
corpochains will struggle to meet this standard...this doesn't mean they're illegal but it will mean sales of the token by insiders etc. are much more regulated and more disclosure is required
L2s will have to make sure their security councils are quite narrowly scoped

My unpopular opinion amongst my Aggie friends is that Utah State has to go and earn the right to have BYU come to Logan again.
We had a great home-and-home series going, and then USU went and lost 10 straight to BYU.
You have to fix that before they even remotely consider coming back to Logan. Gotta prove we are closer to equals than distant rivals.

Yuga Labs was the plaintiff. It sued RR. Plaintiffs don’t pay defendants to avoid going forward with their trial against defendants. Especially not in cases where courts previously ruled against the defendants and ordered the defendants to pay the plaintiff’s legal fees. Use your brain for a second and think about who probably paid who to avoid trial.

I'm actually trying to do something even more ambitious: Create "cypherpunk principled non-ugly ethereum" as a bolt-on to the present-day system, in a way that's as tightly integrated and interoperable as possible, and then grow it over time, in the mean time making sure ethereum itself gains the cypherpunk and simplicity properties that just necessarily have to be system-wide (eg. censorship resistance, zk prover friendliness, consensus properties). Then, in 5 years (or maybe way sooner with AI coding and verification, who knows), we have an open pathway to turn the existing system into smart contracts written in the language of the new system if/when we want. Ethereum has already made jet engine changes in-flight once (the merge), we can do it ~4 times more! (state tree, Lean consensus, ZK-EVM verification, VM change)
