Who is Responsible for the Repairs? - The property owner's responsibility begins where NES connects the service drop wires from the electric pole and transformer to the owners building or house.

Ensure your home will be ready to receive power. After a major storm like this, it’s important to know where our role ends and yours begins. NES maintains and repairs the lines leading to your house, but homeowners are responsible for the equipment on the house. If your weatherhead, power mast, or meter base are damaged, our crews cannot safely reconnect your power. You will need to contact a licensed electrician for these repairs first. We’re working around the clock to get Music City back online!

Don’t get scammed - Before you hire any contractor, ask for proof of license, insurance, and credentials.

All work must be inspected before NES will reconnect power to a structure that required repairs and these inspections may only be requested by a licensed electrical contractor. Verify the credentials of any contractor before hiring them to conduct the necessary repairs.
