If it wasn't approved, you simply could not get it without enrolling in a clinical trial. There are lots of ongoing trials with fully approved medicines like Ibuprofen, but this isn't a clinical trial.

There is a janitor on our floor who I often talk to, a very nice and friendly guy. For months now I was trying to convince him to get vaccinated. Today he told me he just got the Moderna shot.😀👍👍👍

@Holly4KJ @GuptaR_lab Whether transfected by mRNA or vectored delivery, the expressed payload S1 protein is the same. More serum samples would be better, granted, but there's only so much predictive power in a neutralization assay anyway, and I'm starting to think it's not much. The AZ is fine.

Every person mounts a unique repertoire of antibodies to an infection or vaccine. Sometimes they can make an individual antibody that is highly neutralizing, but often it's the totality of the immune response that's responsible for clearing an infection.

Yes, the recipient would probably get antibodies. And after the second shot there would be higher titers of neutralizing antibodies.
BUT...all you need to do is look at the efficacy of convalescent plasma.
