I’ve finally finished creating my Super World in Mario Maker 2 and have unofficially named it Super Mario Bros 5. I’ve been working towards this moment since 2015, trying to create a classic Mario game that plays as if Nintendo created it themselves.

I love the Super World hub in SMM2 where the worlds pop up as Earths, Mars, ringed planets, spiral galaxies, etc. I always refresh it hoping to see my Super World pop up but the chances of that happening are close to impossible.

This game seems very replayable. 7 different game plus modes. Built-in modifiers to adjust gameplay. Lower the Souls mechanics and increase the Zelda style. Do not sleep on Yacht Club!

@BacklogJack Same. I want to see what the developers intended the game to play like so I will not be modifying anything on my first playthrough. Although I really don’t like dropping loot when you die and having to go fetch it. I’ll see how that feels.

@MetroidMike64 Having tons of options is great, but I am always compelled to play the way the developers intended, or at least how I perceive that to be. Normal mode, no handicaps, no modifiers. I like the idea that I am adhering to the original plan.

Fun fact: I skipped school for 5 days to be an extra in The Odyssey. My entire school skipped school. We were all dressed as Greeks and Trojans, they gave us fake swords, shields, armor, etc. One scene, we had to run around to create “background movement.” It was a bloodbath. 😂

@mariomykol It is amazing with the Dock. Any press of the button turns it on. I sometimes turn it on by mistake. Yes, even NES ones work. Got 4 SNES ones just for the Dock. Honestly, it’s perfect. I use the N64 ones for the Analogue 3D. These NSO stuff are perfect for Analogue.

@MetroidMike64 Woah, you can use these with the Pocket Dock? I never even considered that. I just use my 8bitdo Ultimate with the dongle. Do you know if the NES controllers work with the dock, too?

@MetroidMike64 StarFox was designed to be a shooter, and it has always been at its best that way. But there's no reason to retell the same damn story every time. New story, new environments, new levels, additional cast, expanded gameplay elements. That's the direction StarFox needs to take.

@MetroidMike64 That's neat. I don't have that one, but I did get a pair of Famicom controllers with the JP collector's edition of NES Classics Remix or whatever that was called. GameCube controllers were the trickiest, though, because there was a limit of 1 online. I bought one at Nintendo NYC

@ValhallaOutcast Both are solid honestly, can’t really tell myself. My SN30 Pro is always in my backpack. Got Pro 2 & 3 at home for Switch 2. Then saving my 4 SNES NSO controllers for the Analogue Dock.
