@jeff_gluck JGR is NOT looking good in this one. They better stop while they’re behind.

Heather Gibbs has issued a statement to The Athletic after Jeff Dickerson's comments today. Here is her statement in full: Joe Gibbs Racing was founded on the guiding principle of valuing people above all else within our organization, and the entire NASCAR community.  We’re not here to diminish anyone.  Drivers like Carson Hocevar are exactly what NASCAR needs. I couldn’t be more of an advocate for young drivers coming into the series.   In terms of the lawsuit, our singular purpose is to protect our trade secrets- the most important information that our race team (and any race team for that matter) possesses, particularly in this era of Next Gen cars.  These trade secrets have been created through the hard work and innovation of JGR’s talented employees over the past 35 years as we built our race team from the ground up.    Those same trade secrets were admittedly stolen by a former employee in a manner meant to avoid detection.  Within days of the acknowledged theft, Spire offered that former employee a job and subsequently hired him.  This lawsuit isn’t personal; we have a responsibility to stand up for our employees, for our partners, and for the integrity of the garage.   We believe accountability matters. That is why we are here. Not to tear anyone down, but to stand up for what is right and protect the foundation this sport is built on, so that every team, every driver, and every fan can trust in the fairness of the competition.

From the Gluckcast today, Spire Motorsports owner Jeff Dickerson had some strong comments in defense of his team in the JGR/Gabehart lawsuit.

UPDATE: Deleted an earlier tweet about O'Reilly practice and qualifying remaining for free on The CW app after receiving corrected information. That information is this: O'Reilly practice and qualifying will only be on the ESPN Unlimited package when that deal goes live.

My wife sees the Houston Rockets come on TV. She immediately says “Why are you doing this to yourself? You know they’re going to piss you off.” 😂

I hate that my driver got taken out in the big one but I love this new format for the super speedways. They’re actually racing!

@RedNinetyFour No, it could be viewed that the immediacy of the treatment indicates his rush to get right and get back with his teammates for game 4.

There will be plenty of time to relitigate the KD trade in the coming weeks, but I’m guessing the fact that he decided to get “treatment” on his ankle for 3 hours in the middle of the most important game of the year is a pretty good sign he’s on a different team next year, right?

As expected, after a phenomenal performance on Door Bumper Clear, Steve O’Donnell gets instantly promoted to NASCAR CEO. What can I say, we make things happen. 🤷🏻‍♂️

3 years of tanking, 4 top-4 picks and we can’t beat Marcus Smart and Luke Kennard. Flatout pathetic.

I'm confused as to what's going on with the vote totals in the poll. Last year's voting average in the poll was 24k votes. The year before that was 26k votes. The year before that was 21k votes. And THIS year's average until Martinsville a couple weeks ago was 19k votes. Suddenly though, Martinsville only got 9.8k votes. I posted about it and a lot of you said you didn't see it in your timeline. Now suddenly the next poll is only 3.5k votes. But in the analytics, it says there were 124k impressions (number of people who saw the post). For transparency, let's look at some of the vote totals vs. impressions (number of people who saw the poll, per X Analytics). This is in order for this year's races. Clash: 14.8k votes, 58k impressions (25% voted) Daytona 500: 28.6k votes, 156k impressions (18% voted) Atlanta: 24.3k votes, 257k impressions (11% voted) COTA: 18.7k votes, 135k votes (14% voted) Phoenix: 16.8k votes, 116k impressions (14% voted) Vegas: 15.5k votes, 61k impressions (25% voted) Darlington: 17.3k votes, 256k impressions (6% voted) Martinsville: 9.8k votes, 130k impressions (7% voted) Bristol: 3.5k, 124k impressions (3% voted) So what happened the last few weeks? Something isn't adding up (and no, I don't think it's "NASCAR fans suddenly stopped deciding to vote"). Seems like either the vote totals are wrong or the impressions are wrong and people aren't seeing the poll. What's your theory? (cc: @nikitabier)

Was Bristol a good race? 67 percent of you said Yes. -- Ranks No. 14 of 22 Bristol races -- Ranks No. 3 of the paved Next Gen races at Bristol (the two high tire wear races were ahead of it, so this is the top "normal" Bristol race with the Next Gen car) -- Only 3.5k votes. More thoughts on this in the next tweet. (1/2)
