Not only do I hate carrying these DEF containers around, this stuff adds to maintenance bills. My 2019 diesel dually pick up truck with 101,000 miles recently flashed a yellow service light. Had to go to dealer and the def injector was bad and had to be replaced—- $2,500 and my truck in the shop for a week and not covered by warranty. To add insult to injury my newest diesel pick up truck that I drive daily - the tag for it came in — DEF xxx to remind me of this totally worthless regulation. Companies are making a fortune mixing urea 50/50 with water and selling 2.5 galls for $24 each at convenience stores. I buy my def at Walmart for $9 but I’m still pissed and want this regulation reversed.

You’re managing another chemical and throwing away more plastic “for the environment.” California’s CARB board leads on adopting these standards, with additional in-state rules for trucks operating there
