Thanks to @MhESTMalawi Linnie enrolled at Lisanjala Girls Secondary School and has a shot at an equal future, a chance for her voice to be heard. She is eager to assert her power as a female change-maker in a community hit by an increase in teenage pregnancies during Covid-19.

Energised, Recognised, Counted and Invested in Linnie Ng’ambani was not about to become just another statistic. Studies may have shown teenage pregnancies and poverty as major reasons behind girl school dropouts in Malawi, but that and the death of her guardian did not stop her

Schools provide children with more than an education. They provide nutritious meals, handwashing facilities and psychological support. Once COVID-19 lockdowns ease and schools reopen, these essential services must be protected.

#MhEST is engaging CBOs in Zomba on a tree grafting, nursery establishment and management exercise as a sustainability mechanism. In February #MhEST partnered 137 CBOs to plant over 60,000 seedlings in a campaign to plant 1 million trees in 5 years for environmental conservation
