Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak | Endgame system appreciation post I believe that this game crafted the single best end game farming experience in an action rpg, maybe ever, not just in monster hunter. Allow me to explain why. A infection plagues the entire roster of monsters, turning even starter monsters into end game fights with scaled health, damage output and more aggression. A new level system allows any monster to be leveled from 1 to 300! The monsters don’t just hit harder or have more health, they have designated weak points that must be hit to eliminate the infection and cause massive damage and staggers to them. Fail to reach damage checks and you will be punished with a damaging explosion, demanding a skilled player to prove their abilities, not just button mash. If the monster hits you, you become infected which reduces your healing effects from items, but in return allows a life leech effect to your attacks, encouraging aggressive combat. During these investigations you may earn new random investigations that have any monster on the roster infected, sometimes offering multiple monsters in one investigation, virtually giving you endless random quests on random stages with random conditions. This new system introduces weapon and armor crafting that allow you to keep up with this new challenge called quiro crafting. From here you can augment your gear to your specific needs, whether that be more element or status applied, more sharpness, more raw attack, more chance for a critical hit, the choice is yours in the customizations. There is no gacha rolling for good weapons or armor, you choose the weapon and armor from the existing roster of monsters then tweak them yourself! The NPCs issue investigation requests, targeting specific monsters at minimum requested levels, and in turn reward you with request completion tokens. Once you reach 10 requests completions, you get 500 investigation coins, which you can then turn in for virtually any item you may be lacking or specifically needing at any point. Be that a armour sphere to upgrade your defence, a mantle of a specific monster required to craft a specific piece, a golden egg to sell so you can have more zenny to make more weapons, and on and on… So, to review, this game has created an endgame that: scales the entire roster to endgame difficulty with engaging new mechanics. Made the weapons and armor thoughtful and engaging by allowing you to meticulously curate it to your hearts content, encouraging experimental build crafting. And respect the players time by allowing you to cash in earned materials for specific items you really want, not just throwing them into a slot machine and hoping for a good roll. This is the superior monster hunter endgame that players deserve.

It kind of sucks being in love with monster hunter but in a period where there really isn’t anything to make a video on, luckily I have a wide selection of games I’ve been obsessed with :p
