@MarcTibber3 @sbuehler Reading philosophical texts is preparation, not philosophy. Academia does not foster or teach philosophy but only reading. Writing about what one has read still only prepares. Those who can do, those who can’t, teach. Your calling has to navigate and survive this environment.

@sbuehler I contemplated studying philosophy at degree level & a friend / teacher said that he'd seen too many intelligent passionate people sapped of all lust for life by studying philosophy.
