@pmddomingos So we are just going to ignore the fact that the month that Denmark ran 100% on solar and wind and had a surplus this year the electric price was 0 dkk on average for a whole month?

@inkoalawetrust @nyaraVT You know they are able to be sued right? Either the makers of the app change it to be in violation or they get sued. The Eu has sued itself before.

@evileboxyboo @nyaraVT can't believe i got blocked for telling someone not to swear in public when speaking to a stranger. Its an especially bad idea to use the n word in public to a stranger for obvious reasons, its just down right offensive and there's no need for that.

@evileboxyboo @nyaraVT It's not about sending data to third parties. The act of storing data without the ability to remove it is against GDPR. Though seems the app I was thinking of is different than the one you are referring. The one I was referring to was made by the EU for age verification.

@evileboxyboo @nyaraVT The problem lies in the fact that you can't remove the data from the app which is a violation of GDPR.

@MiaowVal @nyaraVT No its not because you give your data to the eu, who already have it. *IF* even that. The app looks to be local only. And its zero knowledge all it does is tell websites "this user is over 18", thats it.

@VersaceValerio @allisx86 Why is it sunk cost when it would mean you would have to do more changes than with Ipv6 to get something worse and tied to outdated protocols?

@spookybaker1 @allisx86 Cause it's not, the way the spec is set up you actually only end up with 32^2 primary address for each router. Because of the lock of having one r.r.r.r identifier per ASN and the rest just being IPv4

@VersaceValerio @allisx86 Ipv6 has more address space and does not require nat nor DHCP8 which the whole industry has been trying to move away from. IPv6 also does not require redoing the whole network infrastructure as most modern devices support it.

@MiaowVal @allisx86 you are just pissed because you probably implemented end-to-end ipv6 for some system and now it's all for nothing

@allisx86 I should clarify that IPv8 also known as PIP from 1994 is not a joke. "IPv8" from 2026 is very much an ai generated joke at best.

@allisx86 Ipv8 is a joke and not real. It does even have the same problem of not having enough address as ipv4 does. It's also a draft proposal made by one person mostly likely using ai

@Xort_TC @allisx86 The problem is the way ASN is proposed in the draft which makes it so that every IPv8 router probably needs a ASN prefix or else it would be 0.0.0.0 which just makes it IPv4. So we are back at the IPv4 problem of only having 4.3 billion addresses to hand out.

@Xort_TC @allisx86 Its not squared, its per ASN holder. So you would have 6 in the USA because that's how many ISPs you have. Also each website and server takes up an ip address. Also little known fact. IPv4 already uses 32 bit ASN. Meaning IPv8 as proposed is just IPv4 but where the ASN is visible

@Xort_TC @allisx86 No, it has 64 bits of addresses. Furthermore, each ASN holder can only have 32 bits of addresses. This means some ASN holders will have to use NAT again because there are over 17 billion IoT devices who need an ip address and each ASN only has 4.3 billion addresses.
