He managed to snatch it and throw it off Wembanyama's lower body to successfully retain possession but the refs missed the correct call. Caruso's foot was actually firmly planted flat on the out-of-bounds baseline turf while his hand was still in physical contact with the basketball. The uncalled violation gifted the Thunder an extra possession that completely altered the closing minutes of the first overtime, eventually forcing a second OT.
