Last year, we built a people powered campaign in Edinburgh West. We knocked the Tories into fourth place, and increased the Labour vote. I'm excited to get out and speak to members about their priorities for next year.

Country first, party second. I held my first Cabinet meeting this morning. My government is ready to serve the people of Britain.

It was a great result across Edinburgh for Labour and it's brilliant to be returning four MPs. Edinburgh West was the outlier but we increased our vote share here by 6.3% with limited resources. Congratulations to @cajardineMP for her stunning victory here!

I also want to give my commiserations to @EuanHyslop who was a great candidate. I hope our paths cross again soon.
