Finally putting my first theological reflection together today for my curacy. Somehow, I have gravitated onto Twitter. Not sure whether it is for inspiration or escape...anyway, reflection is something to do with church diversity.

@Rev_RichTea I agree Richard that all in ministry should seek to pioneer, but maybe for some, a bit like ordained ministry in the church, this is a particular calling and focus. Thanks for all the other top tips! I enjoyed reading them and your reflection is helpful.

@jamesellin Are you sure it's the print and not the nature of what you're reading James? When I am reading theological stuff it takes me ages because I have to keep using the oxford dictionary for every other word (slight, but only slight exaggeration)

@CurateDurrant Try an unforgiving man-made fibre monastic habit in this unhappy weather, and then we'll talk about temperatures.

Christians: if someone signs an email to you ‘blessings’ what’s the correct reply? Does ‘best wishes’ look snobby? I can’t bear to use ‘blessings’.

#somethingnew Done many things for the first time during lockdown ... Furloughed myself, planted runner beans and kale, painted house, attended online prayer meeting with 80 others, called many people I would not normally, packed foodboxes, delivered foodboxes ... Is.43 18-20

@NedLunn But maybe also to reflect the indwelt presence of Christ to others? I think we can still do that in lockdown....

What I am learning about being a priest in lockdown is summed up by this quote, “The monk is not defined by his task, his usefulness: in a certain sense he is supposed to be useless, because his mission is not to do this or that job but to be a man of God.”

@mthr_alice Hi Alice, can you clarify what you are referring to here? I think I may have missed some of the thread. Thanks

Sheep Sunday. Lately I've found it odd that the Church of England focuses on fluffy ideas of vocation, when surely today's Gospel speaks of the fate of those who are charged with protection of Christ's flock, who choose instead, through fear, to feed them to ravenous wolves

The poor dying at twice the rate of the wealthy, over a million new universal credit claimants, chaos over vouchers for children on free school meals, unprecedented demands on food banks and what are Anglicans arguing about?
