@TristinHopper Oddly common trend of people who don’t live in a particular place insisting that said place is the best place to ever exist and nobody should ever want to speak ill of or stop living in that place.

@BagelPolling It really is sad how many people are basically immediately set up to fail in this country purely based on the fact they weren’t born sooner. It honestly feels like Canada was built as a playground for 1 or 2 specific generations and they just won’t stop hogging the swings.

In a society where 19% of the Federal budget is unfunded transfers to old people for being old and only 5.5% is transfers to families are we really surprised that our population doesn't have children? We have an intrinsic Ponzi scheme at the basis of our society.

@BagelPolling Verifiable proof right here that Canada operates on a very obvious two-tier justice system, and has for a long time. Despite this however, half the population has been conditioned to support this form of “reconciliation”, and call you a racist or a bigot for pointing it out.

@DanielTyrie Country of origin should be, like, one of the most bare bones basic ass criterion when it comes to immigration.

@BagelPolling Amazing to me that anyone ever thought cultures with such glaring differences could ever peacefully exist under a uniform set of societal values. It’s also part of the issue why foreign criminals get special treatment under a judicial system designed for only 1 specific culture.

@TristinHopper Because half the government is foreigners or bought and paid for by foreign interests.

Foreign criminals being given special treatment is easily one of the most outrageous things happening in Canada right now, and the outrage is extremely nonpartisan. So why aren't these dominating the coverage of anyone else?

What's truly mind-boggling about all the debt is how it was wasted. Nothing was built. Nothing was improved. One of the greatest outlays of cash in the history of our species was squandered on nothing.
Tristin Hopper@TristinHopper

When I was 19, I though that if Canada just decided to blow out the budget with wartime deficits for a few years, we could pepper the landscape with infrastructure and be set for decades. We *did* blow out the deficit, and literally everything is worse everywhere forever.

Technically all homes will get cheaper but I don't think the amount of multi-million dollar second homes is enough for the average joe to notice the difference.

Upsides: expensive high end homes in New York are about to get cheaper Downsides: businesses that rely on wealthy customers are about to have a bad time and business owners who only live part time in NYC will probably stop doing as much business in New York.
Governor Kathy Hochul@GovKathyHochul

If you can afford a multi-million dollar second home in New York City, you can afford to join its residents in supporting the greatest city in the world. nytimes.com/2026/04/14/nyr…

@TristinHopper Are they trying to say Pierre is a worse leader because he… isn’t bribing them harder to stay than the Liberals are for them to flip? We are falling into some real 3rd world government/political corruption scheme really fast and sadly a lot of people are clapping and cheering…

@BagelPolling Govt spends $1.5m tax dollars on a survey and study just to conclude that poor people are A) Not happy being poor B) Would prefer not to be poor And unfortunately we are in an era where the govt would rather spend $20m trying to make poor people happier to be poor than not poor

How the political spectrum deals with the "some people are poor" question: Far-left: what if we made everyone poor Left: what if we made the middle class poor Centre-left: what if we took a little bit from everyone and pooled it together Centre: 50 page dissertation that summarizes to "lets do nothing" Centre-right: what if we did more charity Right: what if we cut taxes a lot Far-right: what if we didn't care that some people were poor
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: Green leader Zack Polanski will call for policies to end the "affordability crisis" tomorrow - The introduction of a 10:1 pay ratio, whereby the highest-paid employee earns no more than ten times the lowest-paid - Free school meals for all primary and secondary pupils - Universal energy bill support for households and stronger rent controls - A customs union with the EU to cut business costs

@BagelPolling He needs to drop the “catchy slogan” crap. Honestly it seems like all he does now is just repeat quippy dumb slogans and slide further down the Liberal side of the spectrum to try and flip unflippable voters, all while alienating more and more of whatever remains of his base.

@Truth_matters20 To deny Christ’s birth is to deny the hypostatic union, to deny his fully human nature. If Christ (as you imply) wasn’t fully human, then his suffering and sacrifice on the cross for the sins of humanity (including you) are invalidated.

- cuts crime to record low - cuts taxes, balances budget, lowers debt - cuts illegal immigration - enacts world's most selective legal immigration - quells Quebec separatism - makes Canada admired abroad - loses in landslide to far-left theatre kid What was Canada's problem? 🤔
