Mr. Market is the best teacher of all. You can always count on the market to do the right thing after it has tried everything else. I love @TheBabylonBee

The Bezmenov lectures have been one of the longest-standing conspiracy theories of our time. But a conspiracy theory only remains one until it becomes a reality. This 1983 lecture is remarkable given how things have actually transpired over the last 40 years.

Congratulations to the approximately 8 million people who came out to No Kings rallies this weekend — the largest single-day political protest in American history. The American people are saying loudly and clearly: no to authoritarianism, no to oligarchy and no to endless war.

My thoughts on the fact that we now have enough signatures to trigger an referendum on Alberta independence. Can't wait to hear the "no" try to sell us on the idea of staying in in this failed experiment called Confederation

RFK Jr. shared a simple but powerful reminder about what real science actually is. He recalled a conversation where Marty Makary pointed out the inscription above the entrance to the Royal Society in London — the world’s oldest and most prestigious scientific body: “Question everything.” That, RFK Jr. said, is the essence of science: the willingness to challenge orthodoxies, entertain heterodox ideas, and admit that convention is often wrong. The people who make the biggest advances are almost always those brave enough to think differently. He contrasted that with today’s ossified medical bureaucracies, which he believes have become fortified against exactly that kind of questioning and change. It’s a short but striking reflection on the spirit of scientific progress versus institutional rigidity. What do you think — is “question everything” still the guiding principle of science today, or has the system become too resistant to challenging established views?

Funny to see some “investors” trying to figure out whether they should buy or sell stocks after a crash by looking at charts. As I keep saying, charts are rearview mirrors: they only ever contain information about the past and nothing about the future. There is no way one can tell if they should buy or sell a stock after a crash without knowing its value.

Another way to look at it is to compare the 2026 version of BUR to the 2016 version. The total group portfolio is up by 520%, the annual cash realizations are up by 230%, greater data / know how, plus over $5B in the litigation pipeline and yet the market cap is 20% lower than it was 10 years ago. It is dirt cheap no matter how you look at it. The only potential risk is its debt.

I have been in the market for a long time but have been an infrequent trader. Now that 2026 began, it is a good time to reassess. For now, I have three stocks on my watchlist; NNI, HOG, MOH. Among the three, HOG is by far the cheapest – not a great business but cheap nonetheless, and it is not like it will go out of business soon. NNI is a great business that keeps growing steadily and keeps buying back its shares, but its debt is larger than my liking. It has to come down materially before I will be tempted. NNI has been on my watchlist for years but it almost never became cheap, and in rare occasions when it did, I could always find substantially cheaper stocks. Perhaps, I should have opted for NNI instead of the other cheaper options. A wonderful business at a fair price versus a fair business at a wonderful price, and all. MOH is also a great business that keeps growing steadily and keeps buying back its shares, and unlike NNI, its debt level is in my comfort zone. The trouble is, medical / pharma / health is the most distant area from my circle of competence. I cannot quite assess their competitive advantage or potential pitfalls to watch out for. Worse, now that Mike Burry had promoted it, the stock is getting pricier. Perhaps AI may help me understand medical / pharma / health stocks. Warren Buffett is right about waiting for a perfect pitch to swing at. The trouble is, one rarely comes. After all, you can always find some negative aspects of a stock.

I can’t even anymore… How many embarrassing Canadian moments have gone viral this week alone? An NDP convention consumed by ideological posturing, where purity tests matter more than practical solutions for Canadians. An awards show, the Junos, that felt less like a celebration of music and more like a publicly funded service announcement, pushing messaging instead of showcasing artists. And now, in the middle of a fatal aviation tragedy, the national conversation shifts from pilot deaths to language politics. At some point, you have to ask: What are we actually prioritizing? Because this is not a distraction anymore. It’s a pattern. We are choosing optics over reality. Narratives over facts. Performative debates over serious issues that actually affect people’s lives. And if we can’t even focus on loss of life without turning it into a political talking point, then something is deeply off. Not just with our institutions, but with us. Because if we can’t tell what matters anymore, we shouldn’t be surprised when nothing does.

WEF-connected globalist Christine Lagarde (President of the European Central Bank) and Zanny Minton Beddoes (Editor-in-Chief of The Economist) had a revealing exchange about Europe’s current state. Lagarde defended Europe as a “brutal success,” highlighting decades of peace after centuries of war, strong healthcare, longer lifespans, and safer environments for raising children. Beddoes pushed back hard, noting that Europe has fallen significantly behind the US in GDP, is lagging badly in the AI revolution, carries unsustainable welfare states, and is facing major populist backlashes from unhappy citizens. She added that many outsiders see Europe as a great place to visit or retire, but not as a place shaping the future. Lagarde acknowledged the GDP gap (Europe is roughly 40% behind the US per capita) but argued that different societal models exist, and it’s up to each society to decide what “better” really means — wealth distribution, quality of life, or other values. It’s a candid moment that captures the growing tension between Europe’s self-image and the hard economic and technological realities on the ground. What stands out more to you — Europe’s historic achievements in peace and social safety nets, or the concern that it’s becoming stagnant and losing dynamism compared to the US?

@abc123jjj I agree with everything you said. Just remember one thing. Pay back the money +interest Ottawa poured into oil sands in the 70s ur oil was only possible with tax payer money from Ontario and Quebec. It would’ve never been possible with a province with a population of Mississauga

I don’t want to do this anymore. I don’t want to be a part of this. I just don’t. I don’t want to live in a country that’s falling to pieces, and I have no plans on leaving Alberta because Alberta is an incredible place. I was born here. I was raised here. I’ve lived my entire life here. And I love it here. I just don’t like Canada. I used to - but not anymore…. I don’t like being the only white person in a room - and I don’t care if you think that makes me a racist. I don’t like the idea of law abiding citizens being disarmed by the government - and I don’t care if you think that makes me a redneck. I don’t like how so many people are turning their backs on women’s rights so men can invade women only spaces because they think they’re women even though they’re men and will always be men - and I don’t care if you think that makes me transphobic. I don’t like knowing we could be one of the richest countries in the world but not being that because of selective Canada only climate hysteria that doesn’t make any sense and consistently contradicts itself - and I don’t care if you think that makes me “part of the problem.” I’m sick of Conservative politicians talking about how radical the NDP is while signing MOUs with Liberal politicians and calling it progress - it’s ridiculous and insulting. I don’t like the never ending taxes. I don’t like the feeling of being replaced. I don’t like seeing videos of immigrants shitting in Canadian streets. I don’t care about “Palestine.” I don’t care about Ukraine. I don’t support mass immigration. And I don’t like living in a country that has turned its back on Alberta (and the wonderful people who choose to call this beautiful place home). I don’t like any of that. I don’t care what you call me. I don’t care what you think of me. I want out. And I want a better life for my family, my friends and myself - which is why I fully support Alberta independence and always will. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

NEW: Far-left Canadians start arguing over "Equity Cards" at the 2026 NDP Leadership Convention. Woman 1: I was standing here with my gender equity card before you called on the previous speaker. That's my point of privilege... Woman 2: I want everyone to be mindful that these cards for individuals like myself who identify as a black woman have no value outside of this space. Good to see Canada arguing over the issues that matter. Video: @AmazingZoltan

Nah, Canadastans are largely retarded. As I keep saying, do not underestimate the power of the Moron Side of the Force. x.com/Hydroxyl_Acid/… If you positively embrace conservatism and capitalism, you will automatically be against communism / socialism / Marxism. Can this happen in Canadastan? You can always count on a market to do the right thing after it has tried everything else, but it will take a very looooooong time for Canadastan to do so.

We really need to restore the value of conservatism, which used to be indistinguishable from classic Churchill liberalism, and positively embrace capitalism. Both conservatism and capitalism became dirty words because of the leftist propaganda. If you positively embrace conservatism and capitalism, you will automatically be against communism / socialism / Marxism.

I hope enough Canadians out there see what a ridiculous clown show Leftist parties are. Reporting is not exactly strong on this front, and the typical Boomer Canuck has unbelievable normalcy bias. What's actually happening in reality is insane, though.

HAPPENING NOW: More from the 2026 NDP leadership convention. A young woman wearing an oversized keffiyeh makes an impassioned speech against involvement in the Iran conflict, but is quickly rebuked and reprimanded for misgendering the chair who self-identifies as "non-binary."

@Prairielily22 You don't seem to realize that the current state of the NDP is merely a logical and inevitable conclusion of the socialism ideology. x.com/Hydroxyl_Acid/…
Sir Arnold Robinson@Hydroxyl_Acid

You know why. It has been obvious that Canadastans long loved socialism. But you actually need to be a good person to be able to reject socialism, as Milei concisely articulated. x.com/Detaramebuster… Now, you may be able to get away with not being a good person for a while, but as they say, chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken. Then you have Canadastan.

Watching the videos of the NDP convention, I'm just shocked at how weird and creepy and insane the NDP has become. I say this as someone who spent 11 years as an ardent NDP member from 2006 to 2017. They are just batshit crazy now. Most normal people have left the party. I really hope many of the still existing NDP voters watch the videos of the convention being shown online because that will turn them off of the NDP completely. I bet Carla Beck and Naheed Nenshi are really really hoping voters in their provinces don't see the videos because unfortunately for them, most voters have difficulty differentiating between federal and provincial--all they'll see is that the NDP has gone bonkers.

Ashton is the "centrist" Canadian among the loons also running for the job. There isn't an NDP politician or staffer province-wide/federal-wide who doesn't know the extinction level event for their Party isn't just coming - it HAS arrived. Also - this party was polling at 21% in October 2024. They had a moment to act. The country would have understood. Now it's dead, & we're in trouble.
