@Shpigford Congrats on the launch! 🚀 Beautiful website, clear benefit to potential customers. It seems like what you built at Maybe and one offering after that (can’t remember which offhand) really helped you manifest this.

Have just launched granite.co! Granite is a long term doc vault. Legal, medical, business, taxes, etc. It's NOT a knowledge base. It's a place to drop documents you may never need or only need once or twice. But you should be able to find those docs instantly. Imagine a title for a vehicle. Or receipts for taxes. Or a purchase agreement from a business transaction. You simply dump all of those docs in Granite and never think about them again...until you do. No organization. No tagging. No folders. Simple plain english text input to find exactly what you need right when you need it.

I like the spirit of this, but I’m going to sit this one out. I just wrapped up the @DNAcademy Investor Challenge, which ran for a full year, and that felt like a long runway. I could use a break. Mixing domains, websites, and social media handles also makes it difficult to compare results fairly. Each of those requires different skill sets, and I suspect most participants wouldn't have equal experience across all three. If the goal is a true apples-to-apples competition, I'd love to see the scope narrowed to domain names only and setting a high bar within that lane. $500 to six figures cash would be stellar. Wishing everyone who jumps in the best of luck. I will definitely be following.

@datacubecom @ChatGPTapp I find Perplexity.ai to be a better analyzer, as it will spin up a Python instance and write some quick code to solve the problem. It's free to use if you sign up, for a certain number of queries per day. Give it a try next time you have the opportunity.

I asked @ChatGPTapp to compare two lists of domains. 51 and 50 domains, to see which domain was present on one list and not the other. The AI incorrectly told me they were identical. Then, after I correctly pointed out which domain it was, it tried to gaslight me. Only on the third time, did it admit the mistake.

I am starting to become a luddite when it comes to a lot of this "AI" nonsense. It's a great buzz word, but in reality it is leading to the enshittification of a lot of things. There is just so much low effort, low quality slop everywhere.

@5quirks No. I was asking you to build a backorder list even when domains weren’t in pending delete status. Like Sav offers and Snapnames supports.

@MichaelCyger this is what you were asking us to create, right? Feels trivial by cross referencing user watchlist + daily drop list updates + an email 👍

@ppcbz Isn't it amazing when a run randomly turns into a great one? Clearly it's because of that elite-level carb loading you did last night. So obviously, the only logical move is to repeat that exact routine before every run. 🤣

Just pulled the data… We’ve had 15 serious inquiries in the last 30 days alone for people trying to buy their LastName.com. The personal domain market is very real.

Words really can’t express how proud I am of my son who graduated last night. Due to a serious illness he missed 1.5 years of school. Doubled down graduated on time doing 4 years in 2.5 - an A average, scholarships, and AP courses. His face says it all.

Cursor 2.5 dropped Sunday, steeply discounted. 2 days later, I built an app for basically free. Thx @Cursor_ai! 🌿 Plant Map A dead-simple way to map every plant on your property. ✔️ Pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (no backend, no database, no account) ✔️ Your map saves as a JSON file on your computer ✔️ Open it in any browser and it just works Features: 🛰️ Satellite + street map views 🌿 Name, date planted, and notes per plant 📍 Click to place plants on your actual yard ✋ Hold a pin to move it · Duplicate in 1-click 🏷️ Color-coded categories (existing, new, wishlist) 👁️ Show/hide plant types on the map 🔍 Search and filter your plant list 💾 Save/load JSON, portable, yours forever 🖨️ Printable PDF map export 📱 Works on desktop and mobile Got a domain idea for this app? I'm looking for a good name for this. Something short, memorable, and garden/plant/map related.

If a domain at @GoDaddy closeout ends today at $30, the price will decrease each subsequent day according to GoDaddy's Dutch auction closeout pricing structure. Here is the progression: Day 1: $50 Day 2: $40 Day 3: $30 Day 4: $11 Day 5: $5 So, if the domain is currently at $30 (Day 3), the price will drop to $11 on the next day (Day 4), and then to $5 on the final day (Day 5), assuming it is not purchased before then. As part of the @DNAcademy $500 Challenge I'm waiting for $5. But I had to buy one at $11 because I had a pickleball clinic at the time it was changing from $11 to $5. 🙃
