ALBUM OF THE DAY: Yesshows by Yes
Six years after Yes’ first live album, bassist Chris Squire was asked to comb through hours of tapes for a follow-up; YESSHOWS arrived in late 1980 shortly before the group (temporarily) disbanded. With no duplicated songs from the previous set, the double album drew from tours supporting RELAYER, GOING FOR THE ONE and TORMATO and, except for a couple cuts with Patrick Moraz on keyboards, featured the Anderson-Howe-Squire-Wakeman-White line-up in its prime. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers were legendary for virtuoso performances that could recreate – and top - even the most complex studio arrangements, and epic versions of “The Gates of Delirium” and “Ritual” will wow even hardcore fans. Complemented by cover art from Roger Dean, YESSHOWS distills the golden age of progressive rock into a concert album brimming with passion and invention.

English

@_paulrodgers @JimmyPage @ChrisSladeDrums @FretlessMonster I guess a reunion is out of the question - might box sets and/or remasters be possible?
English

The Firm by The Firm was released on this day in 1985.
@jimmypage, @chrissladedrums on drums and @fretlessmonster Tony Franklin on bass. What funk we had!

@MarkMittelberg So sorry to hear Mark, but glad there’s celebration also!

Hi, friends. Earlier this week I lost my father, friend, and much-loved mentor, O. H. "Mitt" Mittelberg. He was 98 years old, had been a devout follower of Jesus for almost 8 decades, and he was beyond ready to go home to his Savior (and to my mom who died 6 years earlier).
We're very sad at his loss, but also thankful that he has graduated to the heavenly home he was so confident of (see John 14:1-4, 1 John 5:11-13). If you'd like to know more about this wonderful man, I talk about him in both the Confident Faith and Contagious Faith books—as well as in the obituary linked below.
Hug your loved ones today, friends. Really cherish them in ways they can see and feel. God's most important gifts to us are his offer of eternal life through Christ and the people he surrounds us with. And the only thing we can take with us into heaven is... people. 🙏🏼❤️

@Mikehomeseller Hemispheres, because it was my first Rush album - and that tour was the first time I got to see them!
English

@Mikehomeseller Yes - in Memphis at Mid-South Coliseum and in Nashville at Municipal Auditorium. Both in 1982 about six months apart on the Ghost In The Machine tour! And both were great, as you would expect.
English

@Mikehomeseller Yes - the Double Trio in the mid 90s in Cincinnati and the last lineup at the Ryman in Nashville in 2019. Very different, but both were stellar shows!
