The UK immediately needs to: - Increase defence spending rapidly (rather than shrinking its army) - Focus its military strategy on deterring Russian aggression in Europe (rather than confronting ‘global threats’) - Work with European allies to defend Europe under a NATO that doesn’t have US support (rather than assuming that America guarantees European security). Anything less would be a government dereliction of duty.

@PJTheEconomist Higher earners can get a 40% tax break on an EV and charge at home for pennies. Regular workers without off street parking cannot get that tax break and pay 8x (!) more to charge. They are stuck with ICE and you want to make it more expensive

Amazingly new government, new chancellor, same old ridiculousness. Still working to public finance forecasts which assume fuel duty will rise with inflation and "temporary" 5p cut will be reinstated. But if not this year, what chance that will ever really happen?
