@mikebetsonstuff McT doesn’t work if you want to control the midfield. The guy is a passenger

@ManUtdMEN Is it to move back in with his mum to have someone Molly coddle his ego?

@Muppetiers Nothing to do with the laws it’s all about media coverage.
English

@hosang @MR_LAMIDE @Muppetiers Non-sense managers sell players because they don’t like their playing style. They don’t need a reason to attempt to sell a player. If the player doesn’t want to leave its not unusual for them to be benched to force a move.
English

@MichaelHampson2 @MR_LAMIDE @Muppetiers Maguire is performance based.
Greenwood wouldn’t be.
So it’s more complex.
English

The only way this Greenwood mess diminishes is once the decision is published. I’ve heard an enormous amount of info and I don’t honestly have to words to express all my thoughts about this.
I feel quite sad. It feels as if the circumstances and delays have shifted the burden of responsibility onto the fans, intentional or not.
It should be, as the club said, an objective decision based on the facts of investigation… so why the delay? It will continue leaking and getting worse.
It’s hard to argue against people making the case that fans reactions are being measured. How much support brings Greenwood back? How much makes him go away? How does that coalesce with an objective investigation?
I don’t know. It just has to end, rip the bandaid off, get it over with and it will peak and diminish and we all deserve that over this slow simmering bubble waiting for then next leak, the next shock.
English

@MR_LAMIDE @hosang @Muppetiers And Maguire will most likely be benched and his career will suffer. The same would happen with Greenwood.
English

@MichaelHampson2 @hosang @Muppetiers Who says anyone wants to buy him? Have you thought of that? He could also refuse to be sold, much like Maguire.
English

@hosang @Muppetiers Who says his contract should be terminated. Yes that might be a legal issue but there is no issue in selling a player. Players get moved on for much less than what Greenwood has done.
English

Really respect the work you do, but on this matter I feel fan groups are just yelling into their echo chambers and just confirming their own biases.
I’d urge you to try and speak to defamation lawyers, employment law specialists, others who can provide you with an objective, alternative view of this situation. I’d also urge to re-examine the specifics of the case, because I’ve seen everyone including The Athletic misunderstand or mislead the public on what actually happened.
The club may not have handled this well, but it’s an IMPOSSIBLE situation for them.
And where people are labouring under a misapprehension is that somehow the fans, the players, sponsors or the coaching staff should have a sway with this… This unfortunately is not the case.
This is a deeply TECHNICAL decision on whether a person could and should have their contract terminated under a specific set of circumstances.
In the same way the Emiliano Sala tragedy highlighted flaws in the footballing transfer system, this case offers different but equally complex challenges as to the nature of a footballer as an intangible asset of a football club.
English

@mikebetsonstuff Yeah I don’t the hate Antony gets. I like him, he has room to improve but how Sancho is getting away with his performances is beyond me. It’s hard to know if he’s playing half the time
English

@The__1958 Bollocks… it’s boring to listen to an account that wouldn’t be happy with any owner but would be happy with a humans rights abuser above all… not in my name… fuck off
English

@mikebetsonstuff Don’t understand why he should get a new deal. Take the year option give him a testimonial and look to replace next summer. He’ll be unsalable if he’s on £200k a week for 3-4 years.
English

@mikebetsonstuff @samuelluckhurst Not a chance he’ll be off 65-70 at the latest.
English

Seven years to the day since Martial scored in that goal to win the semi-final against Everton. It looked like #mufc had a gem back then. That remains Martial’s best season and he’s only had two good seasons out of eight. He needs to show up today

English

@mikebetsonstuff @gamray He’s a decent player with the potential to be better, but can be frustrating, similar 2 Nani. last few games he’s been our better attacking outlet plus has work rate for his defensive job. It’s fun how everyone jumps on Antony but Sancho gets away with regular awful performances
English

@mikebetsonstuff @MarcusRashford @ManUtd He’s already come out publicly saying it’s a nonsense story. Think that was yesterday afternoon on his socials
English

@DeadlineDayLive @diarioas I wonder how they came up with the name?

🚨 Real Madrid are preparing to activate Erling Haaland’s €240,000,000 release clause when it becomes active in 2024.
They’re calling it ‘Operation Haaland’. 🇳🇴

English

@mikebetsonstuff Totally agree. I could see the Qataris seeing it as a marque statement which would be the Woodward way to go
English

@OmarChaudhuri @mikebetsonstuff No a 8-16 year old that wants to watch a game will more than likely illegally stream it which is another symptom of the black out.
English

@MichaelHampson2 @mikebetsonstuff “It’s easier for parents to take their young kids to lower league games” - this is my point though? If United are on the telly, does the kid not want to stay at home and watch them instead? Appreciate they’re not the only or even key decision maker in that!
English

@OmarChaudhuri @mikebetsonstuff 2/2 Unless you are season ticket holder it’s not easy if you want to ticket your kid to Prem games and it’s very expensive. It’s easier for parents to take their young kids to lower league games.
English

@MichaelHampson2 @mikebetsonstuff To your last point, my hunch - and I fully accept it is a hunch - is that if you have 8-16 year olds who grow up in a habit of watching PL 3pms, they’re unlikely to be interested in lower league football as an adult. Whereas today they may well get taken to those games.
