Pretty Ho-Hum WASDE today: USDA made no changes to U.S. balance sheets for #corn #soybeans #wheat ending stocks. World #corn stocks rose more than anticipated by 4 mmt. Slightly smaller arg soybean crop and unchanged on the large Brazil soybean crop.

@BradyD78 looks like this weeks exports could be suggesting China maybe stepping in. No confirmation obviously but with china corn prices so high and us so low (vs one another) it makes sense the huge unknown sales this week could be them. Trump in Iowa speaking next week. We can only hope

Any chance we see China come in and buy corn in large amounts and save us all like they did in 2020/21?
Matthew Pot@MatthewPot

Dalian (China) March #corn futures at a 6-month high. CBOT March corn at a 5-month low. Interesting directional split.

NDVI looking great only because the poor pollination is keeping more sugar in the plant is the most cringe take I’ve seen yet 🤦‍♂️ I don’t know who needs to hear this, but there is a massive crop out there. Most of us got caught under marketed and with our pants down. No amount of online posturing is going to change that fact. Fingers are on the scale to reduce inflationary numbers and we are bearing the brunt of it. Equities need to lose before commodities start to win

Magnificent 7 stocks are all that matters: 45% of global fund managers say “Long Magnificent 7” is the most crowded trade, according to a BofA survey of 169 participants with $413 billion in assets. This follows 2 months when “Short US Dollar” and “Long Gold” topped the list of most crowded trades. Currently, Magnificent 7 stocks are up +48% since the April 2025 low and reached an all-time high last week. The group now reflects a record 34% of the S&P 500’s market cap. Last week alone, Apple shares, $AAPL, surged +13%, posting their largest weekly gain since July 2020. How crowded can it get?

@LEAADFarms @AgProfessional Disease pressure showing up in NE Neb, MN, and SD with these wild weather swings. Normally in the past 10 years NE Neb is so dry by now. Pivots shut off is crazy to hear there. Sadly some spots got hit pretty hard this weekend West of Omaha it sounds like.

17th stop was in La Salle Co, Illinois. Samples so far in the state of Illinois are all below last years. Same story here. Not a bad crop by any means, but about 10 bu off of last year levels in this county. #OATT #cropwatch #croptour

@LlcHughes @AgProfessional I could not agree more. Last year was a record yield so its obviously always difficult to beat that. However, i wonder if this year we will figure out how much our dry finish really took off last year. Thank you for the comment Paul.

@AgProfessional Given last year's yield got hurt badly because of dryness from late August to early September, it seems likely this crop could be assessed as 10 bpa lower now, but end up higher provided there is not a repeat of the bad finish of last year, no?

11 stop was in Tipton Co Indiana. The samples we pulled were similar to our previous stop. Very similar to last yr. Last year this area did quite well just off the Co record. With ample rainfall and good crop conditions in this region a yield of 220 is in reach. #OATT #corn
