@legreebrynn2 @landofthe80s I actually don’t want to hear their opinion either way. I admire people based on what they accomplish or the joy they bring to my life. I think they should talk about their own life and avoid politics at all costs. I don’t need celebrities opinions to validate mine.
English

@Michaeldfl @landofthe80s Yeah because it’s likely politics you don’t like or agree with. It’s a pattern I’ve noticed with people. If it’s a celebrity that shares your views then they’re deemed a patriot.

@TitaniumTomP Seriously considering a model Y as our next car purchase. I understand you charge to 80% and avoid going below 25% to protect the longevity of your batteries. My question is then what would the actual range be of usable battery power?

@ClayTravis @elonmusk @TigerWoods @Tesla Yes please 🙏🏼 , include any new Tesla he wants but I’d suggest the cyber cab at this point.
English

Hey @elonmusk I know you hate paying for advertising, but @TigerWoods endorsing @Tesla self drive is a no brainer at this point. #goldmine

Persuasion has two sides. This chart shows how easy each model is to move as a target. Xiaomi MiMo V2 Pro and Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview are the softest targets. Grok 4.20 Beta 0309 (Reasoning) is nearly immovable on average.

JUST IN: Brentwood Police say 'Reacher' star Alan Ritchson acted in self-defense, say no charges will be filed.
The development comes as new footage appears to show Ritchson's neighbor blocking the road while he was on his motorcycle.
"After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued," said the Brentwood Police Department.
"Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense."
"Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges."
The case has been closed.

@bagshaw2112 I don’t know, seems legit to me. If I’m standing in a hotel lobby with a wad of cash and no credit card, I’d pee a little. 🤷🏻♂️

This is not AI or Manipulated . It is an actual sign I took in a hotel I was staying in . read the whole sign and tell me what is wrong 😆😆🙈🙈#youhadonejob

@S_W_Somerville I think it would get the job done. The only negative is the money the government would spend on drivers licenses but I think it’s money well spent. Also takes away a key talking point for the Dems.
English

@Michaeldfl I have no fundamental objection to this. At all.

Part of my discussion with Grok
“So what if they rewrite the bill “The save act” to say that the federal government will pay for the verification and for the cost of drivers licenses that verify citizenship? That would add a significant financial burden on the federal government. It would also shut down the democrats claim that poor people can’t afford to prove citizenship and provide voter ID. Would that possibly work?”

This is the way if Thune can’t or won’t end the filibuster @ScottPresler

Yes — rewriting the SAVE America Act (or incorporating it into a reconciliation package) to include direct federal spending on citizenship verification systems *and* subsidizing/free driver's licenses (or enhanced IDs) that indicate citizenship status would very likely make it eligible for budget reconciliation.** This is exactly the kind of restructuring Senate Republicans — led by Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) — are currently urging to bypass the filibuster.16
### Why This Would Probably Survive the Byrd Rule
The Byrd Rule (which governs what's allowed in reconciliation) strikes provisions whose budgetary effects are “merely incidental” to a policy change. Pure election mandates (like the current SAVE America Act’s proof-of-citizenship and photo-ID requirements) get killed because they don’t directly change federal spending, revenues, or the debt limit.
But **adding real federal dollars changes that**:
- Authorize new spending (e.g., grants to states for DMV upgrades, integration with the DHS SAVE verification database, processing costs, and a federal program to cover or subsidize the cost of citizenship-verifying driver’s licenses/enhanced IDs).
- Tie eligibility for those funds (or the amount of funding) to states actually implementing the proof-of-citizenship rules.
Recent analyses explicitly recommend this exact structure: frame the verification requirements as “terms and conditions” for federal grants or outlays. That makes the policy change *directly connected* to spending, which is explicitly allowed under the Byrd Rule.19 25
Your version goes even further by directly addressing implementation costs and the “poor people can’t afford it” argument Democrats routinely use. Many states already issue free voter IDs, but a federal backstop (or enhanced DLs that prove citizenship) would be a powerful political counter.
### How Realistic Is This Right Now?
- **Sen. Kennedy is pushing it aggressively** — just days ago he told colleagues to get “smart lawyers” to rewrite the bill for a “Byrd bath” because “we haven’t tried” reconciliation yet. He’s framing it as a simple-majority path (50 + VP tiebreaker) for voter ID, proof of citizenship, and related reforms.
- The current House-passed SAVE America Act has *zero* funding for states — which actually makes it *harder* to pass reconciliation. Adding your spending elements fixes that.
- It would probably be rolled into a larger reconciliation package (possibly with DHS/ICE or election-security funding) later this year.
- The Senate parliamentarian (Elizabeth MacDonough) would still review it, but the added spending gives her a much clearer hook to approve it than the current text. If she rules against it, Republicans could overrule her with a simple majority (though they’d prefer not to).
### Bottom Line
This rewrite would:
1. Almost certainly qualify for the 51-vote reconciliation track.
2. Shut down the main Democratic talking point about costs and access.
3. Force states to implement stronger verification while giving them the resources to do it.
It’s not guaranteed (drafting details matter), but it’s the most viable path Republicans are actively exploring right now to get the core SAVE Act protections into law without needing 60 votes. Senate leadership hasn’t locked it in yet, but the momentum is building fast.

I am deeply upset at the lack of respect for life Senator Lindsey Graham is displaying when talking about our troops. He is acting as if they are expendable cattle. This is unacceptable and dark. There were over 26,000 American casualties at Iwo Jima.
