@joncbirder It's funny you should mention that. I used to know an engineer about 40 years ago. He used to complain that the number of concrete drives would cause the drains to be overwhelmed as they weren't designed for the extra water. The issue you mention above isn't funny.

@steve220459 Thanks for the work over the years. We took our young son to the NRM, I’m guessing he was three. Hours later we walked out with a happy boy. I have one small complaint. It cost us a fortune on the little railways of Wales.

To enlighten my non-Japanese friends, this was taken in 2010 in Japan. For a few Yen you write down your problems and the paper is then dissolved in water. Theoretically your problem is solved as a result. I was Director NRM at the time and many will understand the humour😁😁

With a degree of sadness, we report the final departure of the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust from Hopetown Works Darlington to our brand new base on Bonomi Way. Our old home served us very well indeed and we look forward to a bright future in a facility fit for the 21st Century.

July 1st was always the start of the annual shutdown period in Leicester when the whole of the City closed for the ‘fortnight’. A beach from long ago with my family who are no longer with us.

@Birdwisenk Underrated bird. This year there’s some nesting in a sea wall. Another wonderful experience was seeing a pair taking their chicks to the sea. No water in river due to tide out. The tiny chicks were running after the adults. I saw them disappear into the heat haze.

@Birdwisenk Yes. A few years ago I saw a pair halfway up a cliff. Possibly safe nesting place, but how short legged chicks got down? To be fair only about a mile from the sea.
