I knew a gay couple down in Texas; Friends of mine - we played tabletop games together. They vanished one day about 6 years ago and my son told me they’d fled Texas for Illinois because they “didn’t feel safe”. So I did a quick search and Illinois has significantly more homophobic attacks than Texas. Both per capita and absolute. I hope they are okay but man it’s a curse to rely on propaganda instead of facts when making decisions.
