@theblaze Honestly... One of the most disappointing things I never expected about becoming a conservative is how insanely awful the GOP are against the Trump administration's agenda. They actively fight it. It's so shocking. I don't get it... why even be a member of the GOP?

I’m sick of giving my time, my energy, and my votes to Republicans. In my 50+ years, they’ve done nothing but disappoint me. The Democrats gain power and 29 minutes later they’re impeaching, conducting midnight raids, and passing executive orders. Republican gain power and they spend 4 years investigating, making strongly worded statements, and whining that they’re powerless to make the very changes they were elected to make. Nothing short of an actual violent revolution will fix this.

U.S. forces have directed 29 vessels to turn around or return to port as part of the U.S. blockade against Iran. Over past 24 hours, media reports have alleged that several commercial ships evaded the blockade, citing M/V Hero II, M/V Hedy, and M/V Dorena as examples. These reports are inaccurate. Hero II and Hedy did not sail past the blockade as part of a flotilla that “ferried” millions of barrels of oil to the market. In fact, the Iranian-flagged tankers are anchored in Chah Bahar, Iran, after being intercepted by U.S. forces earlier this week. Dorena has been under the escort of a U.S. Navy destroyer in the Indian Ocean after previously attempting to violate the blockade. The U.S. military has global reach. American forces are operating and enforcing the blockade across the Middle East and beyond.

This Democrat candidate for the U.S. Senate in Texas insists that “God is nonbinary.” That has upset Christians everywhere. Now he’s doubling down, claiming his statement is non-controversial and calling those who disagree with it extremists. Thoughts?

Breadth verses depth. 397B only fires 17B params but has many much more expert width it parameter count. 27B fires all parameters at once 60% more than the 397B a much larger active network to infer from at any single prompt. Makes the case for training small highly specialized models. Very exciting times.

wait 27B dense beating 3.5-397B-A17B on SWE-bench Verified (77.2 vs 76.2) is the actual banger here, that's a 14x smaller model doing the same job on real coding tasks. and on SkillsBench they beat even Claude 4.5 Opus (48.2 vs 45.3) which shouldn't be possible at this size. the hybrid attention pattern (3 Gated DeltaNet + 1 Gated Attention, 16 times) and native 262K context extendable to 1M is what's making this punch so far above weight. Apache 2.0 + running on single-node vLLM = this is the model a lot of solo devs and small teams are actually going to ship on. By the way follow @drawais_ai for daily ai paper break through outs.

“Christianity was never a ‘be passive and get walked over’ religion.” Andrew Wilson @paleochristcon pushes back on the idea that Christianity is a pacifist religion. Forgive your enemies, yes, but that doesn’t mean allowing harm to continue. He points to Jesus forgiving on the cross, yet also cleansing the temple and speaking about the sword. What do you think? Where did the idea that Christianity = passivity actually come from?

John had plenty of chances already. Proceed as if he is not going to change his position and rally against him. I understand the courtesy you are showing but at this point we must act and not speak. Maybe John will see we mean business from our actions and capitulate, but he certainly won't give in if we are polite and give more chances. Start setting up against him and his allies without hesitation. Let them see their privileges are coming to an end. They will either resist or surrender. But they don't have to do either if we keep asking nicely.

Respectfully, I hope you understand that there will be a day of reconciliation John. There will be justice for those that stand against the will of the people. You are trying to stand against a tsunami of public outcry and it will echo in the years to come. In the end your obstruction will only be a delay, and success will ultimately sit with those who want truth and justice to rule. It isn't wishful thinking. It is confidence that even a small amount of free people can achieve the change needed to end this obvious corruption and broken structure. And in this case the amount of free people are not small. You choose your side by your actions. Don't be against the American people.

Something very sick happened to society in over the course of the last 10 or so years where a piece of media can come out featuring "gruff older man protecting surrogate child," which is ONE OF THE OLDEST CLICHES IN STORYTELLING, and the online discussion is about how "men are creepy and want to fuck the child,"... The Last of Us, which featured this exact same dynamic, absolutely did not have people talking like this, you all need to find Jesus I swear....

There is a way past the absurd and deeply divisive “war” between the President and the Pope, which has been enthusiastically ginned up by the press. And it is indicated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 2309 to be precise. After laying out the various criteria for determining a just war—proportionality, last resort, declaration by a competent authority, reasonable hope of success, etc.—the Catechism points out that “the evaluation of these conditions for moral legitimacy belongs to the prudential judgment of those who have responsibility for the common good.” The assumption is that the just war principles function, to use the technical term, as heuristic devices, designed to guide the practical decision-making of those civil authorities who have to adjudicate matters of war and peace. The role of the Church, therefore, is to call for peace and to urge that any conflict be strictly circumscribed by the moral constraints of the just war criteria. But it is not the role of the Church to evaluate whether a particular war is just or unjust. That appraisal belongs to the civil authorities, who, one presumes, have requisite knowledge of conditions on the ground. So, is the war in question truly the last resort? Is there really a balance between the good to be attained and the destruction caused by the war? Are combatants and non-combatants being properly distinguished in the waging of the conflict? Do the belligerents have right intention? Is there a reasonable hope of success? The posing of those questions—indeed the insistence upon their moral relevance—belongs rightly to the Church, but the answering of them belongs to the civil authorities. The Pope has said, on numerous occasions, that he is not a politician and that his role is not the determination of any nation's foreign policy. But he has just as clearly said that he will continue to speak for peace and for moral constraint. In making both of these claims, he is operating perfectly within the framework of paragraph 2309 of the Catechism. If we understand that the Pope and the President have qualitatively different roles to play in the determination of moral action in regard to war, we can, I hope, extricate ourselves from the completely unhelpful narrative of “Pope vs. President.”

THIS IS HORIFFIC 5-year-old Charlotte Buskey was starved to death by her own father in a house of horrors in Schenectady, New York. Robert Buskey Jr, 35, locked his daughter in her bedroom for months with an external lock and tape so she couldn’t escape. He gave her no food or water and left her to die curled in the fetal position inside a small pack n play crib. The little girl was found severely emaciated, dehydrated, with sunken eyes, her body completely devoid of food according to the autopsy. Her brother was drugged with cocaine and locked in a makeshift cage in the dining room. The father spent his days playing video games and using drugs while both children were completely cut off from the outside world. The house was stocked with food, yet the children were deliberately starved and neglected. Buskey pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and giving narcotics to a child. He was sentenced to 27 years to life. Sickening beyond words.
