We did it!

Missed his transfer to CFR Cluj, but looks really well for them. Cluj only paid €100K for him as well, a steal. Played in 34 games (started in 16), scored 7 goals and gave 2 assists. First season in professional football and looks really good! Switched to the LW too.

Hi everyone! I've decided to leave my role as a First Team Scout at FK Pardubice after 1,5 season. It was a fun ride, helping out with numerous transfers and see the team rise from 15th last season to 8th this year. Thanks to everyone from the club, excited for what's next!

Honestly, I’m not surprised. Belgium their LW is stacked with Doku & Trossard. Other called up wingers can play on the RW AND LW. Godts can’t, and he wasn’t great in last friendlies either. Also, let’s not forget he often neglected the Belgian FA by skipping the U21 selection.

@Gillesmbb Is een klassiek geval ondertussen. Had wel een decent periode als wingback op het begin, maar toen hij hoger mocht spelen toen hij net kwam was die echt top. Moeten gewoon is knoop doorhakken en beslissen of je met een 4ATB & wingers wilt of wingbacks zonder 'echte' wingers

Ik vind het wel een beetje jammer dat Skoras is gereduceerd tot een wingback.

@koenfrans Klopt! De play-offs waren best gehaat geweest in Polen. Het paste daar ook niet om de competitie in 2 te doen, league was te groot. Een play-off systeem dat nog vgm redelijk geliefd wordt is het Tsjechische playoff systeem, al wordt daar ook kritiek gegeven op degradatiesysteem.

Waarschuwing: kritische tweet over de play-offs in de Jupiler Pro League. 😉 Voor de fans van play-offs die graag een correlatie willen zien tussen de play-offs en de betere prestaties van de Belgische clubs in Europa: in Polen hebben ze ook jarenlang play-offs gekend. In 2020 hebben de Polen hun play-offs echter afgeschaft en kozen ze opnieuw voor een zogenaamde '18 flat' competitie. Polen was op dat moment zowaar weggezakt naar de 29ste (!) plaats op de coëfficiëntranking. Vandaag, zes jaar later, staan de Polen 12de. Dit seizoen verzamelden alleen de G5-landen en Portugal meer coëfficiëntpunten dan Polen. Hebben de play-offs in België gezorgd voor betere prestaties van onze clubs in Europa? Het zou kunnen. Maar voor de zoveelste keer: dat kan je niet bewijzen. Want dan zou je met het voorbeeld van Polen evengoed het omgekeerde kunnen bewijzen. Je zou natuurlijk ook kunnen zeggen dat de invoering van de Conference League een rol heeft gespeeld in de opmars van beide landen. Dat zou alleszins van meer intellectuele eerlijkheid getuigen. Nog dit: toen de play-offs werden ingevoerd in België waren Standard en Anderlecht onze absolute topclubs. Standard was net twee keer op rij kampioen geworden. Sinds de invoering van de play-offs is dat de Luikenaars niet meer gelukt. Anderlecht won dan weer vijf van de eerste acht edities van play-off 1. Maar de voorbije jaren heeft ook Anderlecht zowel Europees als in de titelstrijd nauwelijks een rol van betekenis gespeeld. Iedereen is het erover eens dat Club Brugge en Union inmiddels de maatstaf zijn geworden in ons land. Twee uitstekend geleide clubs die mooie Europese prestaties neerzetten. Dankzij de play-offs of ondanks de play-offs? Moeilijk te zeggen. Want ook hier: je zou Standard en Anderlecht kunnen aanhalen als tegenvoorbeelden. Enfin, maak er van wat je wil. Maar probeer geen correlaties te zoeken die overduidelijk bij de haren getrokken zijn. De neveneffecten van dit format worden volgens mij ook nog altijd veel te makkelijk onder de mat geveegd. Ik wens de fans van Antwerp, Charleroi, OH Leuven, Zulte Waregem, La Louvière en Cercle Brugge alvast veel ingebeelde spanning de komende weken. Altijd bereid om erover te discussiëren. Shoot!

Zweden flikt het. De meest onwaarschijnlijke kwalificatie ooit. Geen enkele poulematch gewonnen, opgevist via de Nations League en na zeges tegen Oekraïne en Polen in de play-offs toch gewoon naar het WK!

And finally when we play some decent football: we get unlucky with the referee and we make numerous mistakes in the defense and with the finishing. Pain. This was a really winnable game...
