@Michals76@BBGreatMoments A walk puts a pitcher in the stretch. Putting a pitcher in the stretch is never a good thing. For Ryan, the stretch was especially devastating because he lost the power generated by his legs out of the windup. This is documented. His walk rate INCREASED with runners on.
@SigmaINFJ5w4@BBGreatMoments But Ryan had more walks compared to hits than most pitchers and a hit is often less more damaging than a walk because it could be a double, triple, ect.
@Michals76@BBGreatMoments Career 1.24 WHIP (Walks/Hits per inning) That's not elite, it is above average. 1.00 - 1.15 Great/All Star 1.00 and lower (Elite). Ryan was just above average in career WHIP.
Moving on.
@AuthorGFAllen I definitely, at this point in time, prefer my robotic lady companion over the real one. That being said, more
physical books please. Perhaps one is good enough to keep around forever, they exist - I believe this.
I understand it’s best to end at the chapter because ending in the middle can interrupt your reading experience even though you end up reading the same and when you restart it can be jarring to start in the middle of the chapter but I get eye reading fatigue so sometimes I need a break but I do read a lot.
I have a beta reader who bookmarks in the middle of a chapter. Anyone else think this is absolutely unhinged behaviour? 😭
I have to finish the chapter before I can stop reading. There’s no other option.
Please tell me I’m not the only one.

I've made the decision to not partake in any pitch events anymore. With all the scams out there and now AI, I don't trust my storyline wouldn't be stolen. I now only pitch direct to agents to bypass any chance of that.
Anyone else feel this way?

@whiskey_mike33@seanDeShane@HawkEmDownChris Could get away with walks since he gave up so few hits. Ryan’s ERA was a bigger achievement because when he was with the Angels he pitched with less days in between and went farther into games. He had seasons where he was well over 300 innings pitched.
@seanDeShane@HawkEmDownChris ...and you could argue Ryan's walk total is harder to break than the strikeout although neither will be broken. 5 CY Youngs for Johnson too.
@AuthorGFAllen I do but as an ebook author I’m grateful for the opportunities that ebook readers give to indie authors who otherwise couldn’t get published.
@SDDonovan I think because it insinuates that one must be influenced by someone else in order to make a choice or a decision instead of having the actual ability to make a choice or a decision all by themselves.
@SDDonovan I’m an Indie author but some of the people that slam influencers might think I am in the same boat since my books aren’t published by a major publisher.
I don’t have a problem with influencers. Free market. No different than television commentators and so called comedians. What, just people you are on television it is magically ok but YouTube is not? Some people think that what is on television is a bigger waste of time than influencers.
@SDDonovan Yes. They are defining people (the public) in their terms. You are the subject of their verb, framing you as an unwilling participant under their influence.
