The UK Goverment and UK Gender Critical Terfs are responsible for the death of children in the UK.
New FOI Data on Trans Youth Suicide Collides With the “Tavistock Scandal” Story the Public Was Sold
In February 2026 Good Law Project published figures obtained through Freedom of Information requests to the NHS funded National Child Mortality Database. The dataset records 46 deaths by suicide of trans children under 18 in England between 2019 and 2025. It records 5 in 2019 to 2020, 4 in 2020 to 2021, 22 in 2021 to 2022 and 10 in 2022 to 2023. The database also cautions that more recent years are likely to be underestimated because a higher proportion of child death reviews are not yet complete.
The most politically explosive figure in that series is the 2021 to 2022 total. Compared with the prior year it is an increase from 4 to 22, which is an increase of 18. That is 18 divided by 4, which equals 4.5, meaning a 450 percent increase. Compared with the year before that it is 5 to 22, which is an increase of 17. That is 17 divided by 5, which equals 3.4, meaning a 340 percent increase. A “600 percent” claim is not supported by these numbers unless a different baseline is being used.
Good Law Project links the spike to the period after the 2020 High Court decision in Bell v Tavistock, when NHS England sharply curtailed access to puberty blockers for trans patients. The Court of Appeal later overturned the High Court ruling, but NHS England did not return to the previous position.
The government response to earlier concerns about suicides relied heavily on a review led by Professor Louis Appleby. Appleby’s report examined suicides within a defined cohort connected to the former Gender Identity Development Service at the Tavistock. Good Law Project argues that the Appleby scope and the National Child Mortality Database figures are not measuring the same population, which is one reason the numbers differ.
This is where the second set of FOI findings matters, because it undercuts the public story that the Tavistock was closed because of a wave of families alleging reckless over treatment.
On 11 February 2026 PinkNews reported FOI data showing that across 2012 to 2022 the Tavistock recorded 142 complaints in total about the service, with only eight complaints specifically about gender affirming care being provided wrongly or inappropriately. The same FOI response recorded no complaints being pursued via the law firm Pogust Goodhead, despite widespread media claims in 2022 about mass legal action.
Those two strands sit in direct tension. The public were told for years that the scandal was a runaway clinic and a flood of families and lawsuits. The documented complaint data does not match that impression. At the same time the new mortality data places a sharp spike in recorded trans child suicides in the period after care access was pulled back and public hostility intensified.
None of this proves a single cause for any individual death. Suicide is complex and official datasets do not usually assign a single policy cause to a death. The National Child Mortality Database itself flags incompleteness in recent years. What these FOI releases do establish is that the UK has two verifiable realities on the record at the same time: a very small number of formal complaints about inappropriate gender affirming care at Tavistock across a decade and a sharply higher recorded count of trans child suicides in 2021 to 2022 within the national mortality database used for child death review.
That gap is now one of the central facts of the UK story. It raises an obvious question about responsibility, not in the simplistic sense of blaming one person for a death, but in the institutional sense of what was done, what was claimed, what evidence was used to justify it and what happened to the children living through it.

@krassenstein I have a new compromise. Let's just scrap the entire Halftime Show and have these ladies just spend the entire 30 minutes telling stories and naming names!
I bet everybody will watch that!

At PMQs today, the PM said he will bring forward legislation to remove “disgraced peers”.
We are calling on the Government to use this moment to finally strip Michelle Mone of her peerage.
No Covid profiteers in the Lords. Accountability now.
