@KayBurley @michaelgove Travelling to Rhodes on Friday. insurance, love holiday and Ryanair have said if we cancel we loose the money but if they cancel we get it all back - Ryanair said head to the airport but may get a text on day to say cancelled. Our hands are tied :(

@SkyNews North of the island - town of Rhodes and the old town is not affected, you wouldn’t know anything was happening. I’ve been there this evening. I’m in Kolymbia and it’s fine here ..

Had lots of friends and family checking in on us in Rhodes. We’re currently in Kolymbia about 25 mins up the coast from Lindos. Clear blue skies and if I didn’t have access to news I wouldn’t know that anything was happening. Keep safe everyone. 🙏

My friend has her daughter in a private school. They're already on school holidays and so they've flown off on a lovely holiday with ridiculously cheap flights and hotels - prices that skyrocket when the state schools break up. Another £££s bonus to the already privileged.

Teachers work more unpaid overtime than any other profession. Primary teachers spend nearly 32 hrs and secondary teachers nearly 33 hrs every week working ON TOP OF their teaching timetable. Return your re-ballot vote for a fully funded, above-inflation pay rise ASAP. #PayUpNow

Despite the DfE being told time and time again that we are haemorraghing teachers and their pay needs to be restored, they decide the solution is to pay £10k to overseas teachers (increasing immigration) rather than pay OUR current teachers a professional wage. I mean... really?

@proudtobeTracey @bennewmark I’m also confused by this comment. The only time I’m hiding in school is when I’m crying due to the stress of it all!!

@bennewmark Education as a whole has to be relooked at & make it fit for purpose for today. Also ensure it is providing a decent education for ALL children with teachers who actually are prepared to teach ALL children & are adaptable. More in classrooms & less in offices hiding?

How long before everyone catches on that if we want more teachers then we all have to be nicer to teachers?
