This is a valuable initiative to restore political balance to the Labour Party in London. Restoring a broad church approach to end the aggressive factionalism is exactly what’s needed if we are to bring the party together to defeat Reform

This really is tone deaf stuff from Blair. The extreme, neoliberal, centre is what’s led to a cost of living crisis, food banks and wider decline in our country, and why people across this country are rejecting it outright. It’s his brand of politics that’s led us to an utterly broken country. It’s crystal clear Tony Blair does not care about the lives of working class people.* And, this intervention definitely does not speak on their behalf He speaks for the billionaire class, vested interests and the status quo with the aim of protecting their wealth and power, much like his great friend Peter Mandelson. His institute are bankrolled by big tech and corporate interests, not the 99% struggling through austerity, insecurity and inequality. They don’t represent ordinary communities nor possess the answers to the problems facing the country in 2026. Time to bow out Tony you have done enough damage.

Great to be out campaigning for Andy Burnham in Makerfield today. Totally clear it’s going to be Andy or Reform who wins here. Let’s get Andy into Parliament and show Farage that his reheated Thatcherism isn’t the change working people are crying out for.

Good to see more support for Under16s ban but with accusations some are behind the curve on this issue it’s worth recalling that when the votes were held in the Commons only a hand full of us voted for the ban despite the constant risk of losing the whip. theguardian.com/politics/live/…

Today in Parliament, during the final King’s Speech debate, I made it clear: the Right to Food is not charity it is a fundamental human right. In one of the richest countries on earth, no child should go hungry while billionaires grow richer. No pensioner should be forced to skip meals. No family should have to choose between heating and eating. Food poverty is not inevitable. It is the direct result of political choices, austerity and an economic system that puts profit before people. That must change. Our Right to Food Commission report will provide the government with a ready made solution a roadmap to end food insecurity and guarantee dignity for all by investing in our children and the future economy. #RightToFoodCommission
