At Hayes Cricket Club to see their new square at the Navnat Centre. Many years ago I became patron when the club was going through tough time but working with volunteers we turned it round & thanks to the hard work of the club committee it is going from strength to strength.

Today in Parliament, during the final King’s Speech debate, I made it clear: the Right to Food is not charity it is a fundamental human right. In one of the richest countries on earth, no child should go hungry while billionaires grow richer. No pensioner should be forced to skip meals. No family should have to choose between heating and eating. Food poverty is not inevitable. It is the direct result of political choices, austerity and an economic system that puts profit before people. That must change. Our Right to Food Commission report will provide the government with a ready made solution a roadmap to end food insecurity and guarantee dignity for all by investing in our children and the future economy. #RightToFoodCommission

Last Wednesday, on the day of the State Opening of Parliament, I tabled an Early Day Motion calling on the Government to finally deliver the full Hillsborough Law. I am pleased that more than 50 MPs have already backed this call to end the delay and ensure we deliver a Hillsborough Law worthy of the name. For too long, bereaved families and survivors wronged at the hands of the state have waited for transparency and accountability. 20 years ago I set up a local group to create a local park in centre of Hayes & Scott Dick f of Hayes Hawks joined to build a BMX track.Today I visited a regional race session at park with so many competitors of all ages enjoying the races.Well done all the volunteers
