RYEHILL: THE HARDEST HIT 💔 54 homes in one townland devastated by Bellville solar sprawl. That's 54 families watching their property values collapse. €5.2 MILLION in losses from a single townland. This isn't renewable energy - it's rural community destruction. 👉Calculate your impact: amass.ie 💚Donate to our fight: idonate.ie/crowdfunder/AM… #AMASS #Ryehill #Galway #Ireland

@declanganley (2.) What’s the point of all that “green energy” if the people living here can’t even rely on the lights staying on? Sort out the basics before chasing big projects. 🫠🫠

@declanganley (1.) For the second time this evening, the power has gone out in Monivea — and it’s only 7pm! Meanwhile, they’re busy planning a massive solar power plant nearby......

Remarkable local information evening here in Abbeyknockmoy, Monivea and Ballyglunin. Excellent turnout from 5pm through to 8pm. This was date set by the representatives of French Absentee SolarLord Omnes Capital. And sure enough, having set the date and booked our hall. They cancelled and were ‘Absentee’. So, we went ahead without them and because they chickened out, we had an empty chair take their place. More from this tomorrow but here’s a very short clip. 🇮🇪🇫🇷 @AMASSMOVEMENT

Would you want this sound outside your home? This is the daily hum of a solar inverter recorded beside a real solar farm. Peace and quiet used to define rural life. Now, even that’s at risk. 🎥: Actual on-site recording #ProtectRuralLife #StopSolarSprawl #AMASS #CommunityVoice

Seeing people who worked hard all their lives bring treated as "things" in their vulnerable, older years is reprehensible. And, by an outfit charging €1200 per week for the privilege. #RTEInvestigates

Irish businesses will struggle to compete with Amazon ie, both online and in the high street. Shop direct with your Irish retailers, who already exist. Support local, not the billionaires.

@ballybegbro @LharaMullins Same...Day 8 & its been pushed back 6 times now... new date as this evening is 3rd February. I rang the ESB earlier, and they said they haven't even assessed my area and that it might even be 2 more weeks!

I was so hopeful that the power would be on when I got home from work... but nope not yet 😕 The esb staff have been exceptionally kind when I've phoned & it looks like tonight at 9pm or Sunday. So fingers crossed it's tonight! #esb #StormÉowyn

We have millions of trees now flattened across rural Ireland following #StormEowyn. We are 7 days in and still wide parts of rural Ireland have no power, no heat and still spotty communications. The requirements for new build homes in Ireland is that they have no chimney, no working fireplace, no oil burner and from this year, no gas boiler. To be clear, in the hard hit parts of Ireland these are the only sources of heat that are working. The chimney/fire place ban is cultish insanity, what are we supposed to do with the millions of downed trees? Make bonfires from them? Wait for a dry summer when they light up like an untended California hillside? Who will clear the downed timber if not us? What's the incentive if we can't use it for fuel? The ban on oil and gas burners is even more cultish insanity. All these moronic 'rules and regulations to lower emissions' will not amount to making even a tiny difference to global carbon. China is building a hundred coal fired power stations while really stupid people in Ireland are banning fireplaces. Repeal all these malign laws now.

Latest power update: The restoration date has been pushed yet again—from Feb 1st to Feb 3rd (6th delay). That means we'll be enduring 11 long days and nights without light, heat, or water. Frustration is an understatement. #PowerOutage #Unacceptable #galway #ESB

@declanganley @ritz23670466 Alot to be said for an open fire! Day 8 with no light, no heat, no water in our 'air to water' home. Fully reliant on electricity, and when it’s gone, everything stops. No backup, no alternatives—just cold and frustration. This shouldn’t be the reality in 2025.

@ritz23670466 Those of us in older homes have our open fireplaces and turf/wood burning stoves. So we can heat. Those that were incentivised/coerced into building new homes without those heating options are in a real bind.

@MorgothsReview Alot to be said about an open fire! Day 8 of no light, no heat, no water in our 'air to water' house in Galway. The reality of full reliance on electricity is hitting hard—no backup, no alternatives, just waiting. Cold, dark, and frustrating.

Thousands of Irish families on the West Coast are still without heat and electricity after Storm Eowyn, and they will be without it until February 5th. The reason for this is that their Government regulated away burning wood and turf per the climate agenda. Many new builds have no chimneys, for example. In other words, complexity has replaced simplicity, a peat block, with a smart-app-technocratic regulator. Technology and managerialism have negated the most basic function of a home.
