Wildfire smoke improved across southern Michigan this morning, but another plume is expected to move through the state this weekend. Sunday's air quality is forecast to range from Unhealthy in the Upper Peninsula to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups across the Lower Peninsula.

With a wind shift later today, portions of lower MI may see relief overnight into Saturday. However winds shift back to a northerly direction Sat afternoon, potentially bringing more smoke plumes to MI. Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups to Unhealthy AQ should be expected Saturday.

On Saturday, air quality is forecast to range from Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups in southern Michigan to Very Unhealthy in northern portions of the state. Limit outdoor activity and seek cleaner indoor air when possible. Check current conditions: Michigan.gov/MiAir
