@thesnews @JoshuaSchriver My opinion is any university in the country who feels the need for state or federal funding, needs to learn how to run the universities like a business. A profitable business. If they can't support themselves, shut the fkn doors. Taxpayer funds should never be needed.

State House Republicans are looking to slash 62% of state funding for Michigan State University. During a press conference Thursday announcing the House’s proposed state budget for the upcoming fiscal year, House Speaker Matt Hall, R-Richland Township, said MSU has been “losing their way, losing focus of their core mission.” The proposal seeks to reduce state appropriations to the university by $208.8 million compared to the current fiscal year, in which MSU received $333.7 million. statenews.com/article/2026/0…

This is Iran’s 10-point peace plan, which Donald Trump says is a “workable basis to negotiate.” I don’t know, but this looks like a strategic defeat to me. Am I supposed to consider this a victory when this was the predictable outcome and the war never should have happened in the first place? Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take any off-ramp, but the US is objectively worse off after this. Donald Trump can turn this into a strategic victory only if he finally follows Reagan’s footsteps and tells the Israelis they are cut off if they break the ceasefire and continue the war.
