Hectic week this week. Work continues on the installation of a new triple pump site and filling channels for backless. Work started on construction of some new silos, new house arrived and crew here to construct new chem shed. Also picking and planting peas.

@S_M_Bowman And make it a one day course to get a ticket instead of the mandated 3 days. How much is there to learn about a forklift?

Whoever wins the election can they make a forklift ticket permanent and an oversize pilot licence 10 years before a refresher?

Had a 145m high crane on farm this week putting up a brand new 139m tall tower for emergency services. Shame ⁦⁦@Telstra⁩ wouldn’t come to the party and put some 5g gear on it in the middle of a black spot.

I’m about to go down the cordless chainsaw route - @MilwaukeeTool specifically. Anything to consider before I dive in? Small motors are the bane of my life … my chainsaws have to be “girl friendly” anyway so don’t need huge bar

@Telstra I’m sure you’ve been told that the 4G situation is unworkable in a lot of areas. We now have no service on our farm even with boosters and sending for text messages.

Got my @Starlink Mini this week. It’s going to change my life. Currently sitting in an area where there is no phone coverage whatsoever. With Starlink I have > 150 Mbps download. Literally just took it out of the box, plugged it into an inverter I had, and placed it on the dash.

@GRoh_Ag @Starlink Starlink, it stays on shed wifi when you drive away. Same if someone drives past you with a booster on, it drops starlink and goes to mobile service. You can put phone on aeroplane mode but then you leave the office or starlink and you have no service until you turn aero mode off

@GRoh_Ag @Starlink I’ve had mine about a month. Works pretty good. Have the 50GB and have used maybe half. Still got to pay the Telstra bill though. Has the odd dropout. Can’t park under a tree to get out of the heat and talk. Also when we go into the shed and goes to wifi cause it loses
