Pro Tip:
If you are an engineer and go to someone in any technical field (doctor, tradie, supplier etc ), tell them you are an engineer, ask smart technical questions & that you want the technical explanation.
If their faces don't light up then that's someone who's likely incompetent and is best avoided.

@MickMakes FYI, Sungrow don't have a great history with handling exploit notifications...

@ITMayWorkDev @eevblog @pkm_inc It actually works really well.
It’s like the teacher marking off the roll in class.
They just want to see X number of students in the class.
If there’s extra; who cares? You just care about X students.

Australia had a national referendum vote today.
For the Yanks that seem perplexed that an election/voting system can work and isn't designed to practically guarantee that fraud happens, here's how we do it:
1) It's compulsory for everyone to vote. So there is no social cop-out of "don't blame me, I don't vote"
2) ALL votes are on paper, no electronic voting. First pass results are tabulated by hand at the polling places, and unless it's very close, we usually have a result the same night. There are thresholds that trigger an automatic manual re-count in each district.
3) No ID required. Your name is marked off a local electoral roll which is then electronically checked for duplicates. If your name isn't marked off, you automatically get a fine in the mail.
4) Election day is always on a Saturday, and usually includes a barbie.
5) You have to apply for a postal vote, and they cross check your address along with other security measures. So with the compulsary nature of the election means you can't just get a zillion magical postal votes.
6) There is no such thing here as being "registered" for a political party. And generally we aren't nearly as religious when it comes to party loyalty.
All this guarantees a fraud rate so low it can be rounded down to zero.

@eevblog @AllanAust I saw some historic data on referendums; only a handful have been implemented out of about 40.
Statistically, it was doomed anyway.
English

@AllanAust Current early vote numbers are pointing toward that being unlikely.

So, come Sunday, the majority of Australians will be branded racist for not wanting racism to be written into our constitution.
And it will have only cost us $450M to do so. Good to see our tax dollars well spent.
