No,.@tomhiorns I am not. If I were, I'd have said so. I loathe the Conservative Party more than you do, and have done so for far longer. But I have more sense than to let in a militant Labour government just to indulge my personal feelings

Happy New Year- I've no resolutions to give anything up, however in 2024 I hope to see more of friends and family especially my grandchildren, take extra holidays and learn to play pickleball

@Miss_Snuffy in the 1980s phonics were out of fashion- my son could not read with the Look and Say method so I had to teach phonics at home over the summer holidays. He became a good reader after learning with phonics

Some of the Left are making phonics a Right thing. The sensible Left should fight this madness with everything they have got. Phonics work, whether you are on the Left or Right. Why do these people want to stop it?!

@NetZeroWatch @cmackinlay I am extremely concerned by the prospect of the new pump boilers to replace gas boilers by 2030 both by the high cost & the lack of efficiency. Combi gas boilers work well & we have hot water on demand & don't need a water tank these new replacements seem very regressive
