FYI... capital gains are not "hard earned returns". You literally make an investment, then simply sit back and watch that investment (hopefully) appreciate over time. #auspol

@HollyGrayle When I am confronted with questions like this, I like to look at both sides. Would a white Norwegian be considered Sudanese upon relocating to Sudan? The answer is the same for both…

South Sudanese migrant Nyadol Nyuon announced this month that she plans to return her Order of Australia medal and renounce Australian citizenship after an $800,000 tax payer funded DEI project she ran collapsed in on itself. The Victorian state government committed $800,000 in public money to the "WorkWell Respect Network'' at Victoria University - a project meant to protect diverse women in high-risk workplaces from gendered violence. The project was supposed to organise four public forums on the subject of gendered violence but it is unclear how many forums ever actually took place. Nyuon wrote to the university requesting more resources after struggling to meet project dead lines. The university brought in three additional staff but this was apparently not enough. The project's independent evaluator, which has expertise in multicultural programs, concluded it wasn't possible to do their job, citing mismanagement and ''psychosocial culture and instability.'' Nyuon said systemic racism contributed to the collapse of the project. "This is a typical everyday experience of being a black woman, especially a black woman in a position of leadership," Ms Nyuon said. Another person involved in the project, who identifies as a mixed-race woman, said she was concerned allegations of racism were being "used as a stick to make people fall in line", which she said was "inappropriate" and "reinforced a stereotype that multicultural programs are difficult to work with.'' Nyuon denies all wrong doing and was hospitalised for collapsing during the latter stages of the project, with her mental health impacted significantly.

I joined @TheCalebBond on @SkyNewsAust to discuss today’s Giggle v Tickle decision but I’m honestly still in shock. And I’m angry. Angry that men who claim to be women are not only women in law, but have more rights than the actual women the law was designed to protect. Angry that women and girls have been told, once again, that our spaces, boundaries and safety matter less than men’s feelings. Angry that this insanity is being championed at the highest levels by ideologically captured governments and institutions. Angry that @salltweets has been left to carry this burden for the past 4.5 years when our politicians could have fixed our laws in an instant. No more cheap talk about women’s rights and safety. Parliament must fix the Sex Discrimination Act NOW. I will have more to say when I’ve read the full decision. But until then - and always - men still can’t be women. #Auspol #IStandWithSallGrover

@AvidCommentator @PeteWargent Im not on board with Chalmers' broader changes to CGT etc., but there *HAD* to be some sort of circuit breaker for ever spiralling house prices, we can't just keep Ponzi-pumping the price of essential but unproductive assets in perpetuity.

Yet another story of the changes to negative gearing dropping borrowing power, this time by 37.5%. It turns out this was supporting the market far more than mainstream analysis suggests methinks. h/t @PeteWargent

@ghostofnobodys Yup - I’ve always said, the left love saying diversity is our strength. But they forget that they are able to say this because they are the majority, when they cease to be the majority they won’t be allowed to spew that vomit.

Mass immigration causes a lot of underestimated adverse effects, particularly with identity crisis in youth. The lack of one identity to conform to leads to violence and crime due to repressed Identity.

Increasingly seeing videos like this where the script is clearly just AI. Zero authentic voice or perspective. It’s also just fake nonsense. Why would a net education exporter be so constantly deprived of skills? And how is it that, when we closed our borders and largely only let citizens and permanent residents return, our health system held up far better than many other OECD countries? The issue is we have got our economy hooked on immigration like a drug. We are told the only way to avoid the comedown is more of the drug, but it just keeps getting worse. We need to sober up.

I'm hearing that 12 Australians attempting to deliver lifesaving aid to Gaza may be attacked by the Israeli military in next 48 hours. The Aust Govt should be standing with them & human rights, not Israel. Delivering aid is not a crime. Blocking aid is. Email your local MP now.

@TheZeitgeistNZ I don’t understand why this is an issue, let the economy and population evolve organically - social engineering doesn’t work - stop trying to engineer the population.

Erica Stanford says we need more migrants because Kiwis aren’t having enough babies. A few thoughts: 1. Falling birth rates are a real public problem that we need to solve - if that goes on forever the population dies out. No bigger fail than that. 2. Replacement migration doesn’t solve this problem, it makes it worse - now not only are we not having enough children, we’re losing our country to foreigners. There is even some evidence that migration depresses native birth rates. 3. The Ponzi scheme that is superannuation, and our house-price driven economy are important economic drivers of this problem - we need to move toward retirement being self-funded and growing our wealth through the real economy rather than buying houses. 4. To the extent that we need migrants “to help the economy” they should only be truly highly skilled, and temporary so they go home when the job is done. If you let them stay and pay their super/healthcare etc you haven’t solved the Ponzi scheme issue, you’ve just kicked the can down the road. The permanent residence pathway should be closed off. 5. New Zealand already has at least a million people here who have arrived in recent decades and aren’t Kiwis in any real sense. In the long run this will tear our country apart. We need to be thinking about voluntary return incentives and other measures that countries like Sweden are implementing to address this problem.

Aussie Boomers: Free uni. Cheap houses. Negative gearing. 50% CGT discount. Aussies Now: HECS debt. 10x salary house prices. No negative gearing. No CGT discount. Don't ask why young Aussies are angry. Ask why it took us this long.

Facts are negative gearing is middle class welfare. I congratulate people who work hard and want to build wealth by investing in properties. But if you need to rely on the taxpayers to compensate you, then maybe try something else. Just like franking credits. Another form of middle class welfare. Build your wealth. But stop expecting the taxpayers to help you out every financial year.

There are a lot of factors now putting pressure on property prices: • High inflation • High interest rates • Changes to negative gearing • Changes to CGT • Flat market conditions • Low auction clearance rates • Rising cost of living • Investor uncertainty • Tighter borrowing capacity • Consumer confidence weakening And some people still think property prices will only decrease slightly… when some areas have doubled in the last 5 years. 👀 The next 12–24 months will look very different to the boom we’ve experienced. #auspol
