A fantastic morning in Tullamore at the Energy & Infrastructure Conference hosted by BnM. Great to see the progress being made on renewables and energy security, with strong collaboration across the public and private sectors as we continue to accelerate clean, sustainable energy

Last night, I outlined the supports put in place for families during this international energy crisis, with almost 470,000 households receiving direct assistance with energy bills. We’re also accelerating the transition to renewable energy to protect households into the future.

Ireland already knows how to deliver an ambitious plan, and it comes down to this: you fund it. A nature restoration plan without money is like a human without a heart. It will never work. irishtimes.com/environment/20…

Delighted to open the Saunders Pedestrian & Cycle Bridge in Mullingar - over €3m invested in safer, better connections for cyclists & pedestrians. Linking Ardmore Rd with Dublin & Millmount Roads, it’s a major boost for active travel and sustainable growth.

@fiannafailparty The reality of what's hidden from the public of constructing wind farms on bogs can be seen on the MT.Dillon bogs here in Longford, where nesting habitats of red listed species of conservation is continously removed, water pumped off the bogs continously, farmlands flooded.....

💨🌿 Delighted to be here for the official opening of 126MW of renewable energy leading the way for a cleaner, greener Ireland. In March 2026, 50% of our electricity was generated from renewable sources. That is a landmark moment and proof that real progress is being made. ⚡ 🚀

Delighted to be in Athlone to rename the new cycling and pedestrian bridge in honour of the late Mary O’Rourke. A truly fitting tribute to someone who gave such distinguished public service to our country and achieved so much for her local area.

in related news, will Coillte/BnM relinquish control over any of their landbanks ? and how would it work in practice, for example where BnM are actively draining bogs for windfarms ? irishtimes.com/environment/20…
Ashley@gloverstweets

as always the devil is in the detail, and what’s not released these all go to appeal, and refusals get overturned but NPWS know they can stall release for the 18-24months that OCEI takes to decide on the appeal ⬇️

@DarraghOBrienTD At direct conflict with biodiversity Minister, as highlighted in the IAC report today. Are you going to acknowledge this or continue to turn a blind eye to what the likes of BNM are doing to facilitate wind energy?

@codohertynews Thousands of acres require zero money. Over 5,000 acres of bogs here having biodiversity deliberately removed to facilitate a proposed wind farm by a semi-state. If @GovIE isn't going to lead the way with low lying fruit, then we're going nowhere.

Saving what remains of Ireland's struggling nature needs money, leadership and a radical rethink on what we do with our land. Strong comments and recommendations from independent advisory committee on the Nature Restoration Plan irishtimes.com/environment/20…

@rtenews As long as @GovIE supports a semi-state wrecking biodiversity on bogs then things will not change. x.com/i/status/20491…

@GovIE Is biodiversity loss the cost for such though? Is the Government, during a Gov declared biodiversity crisis, seriously supporting actions such as in the attached of biodiversity loss to facilitate renewables? The hidden reality. #biodiversityloss x.com/i/status/20490…
