@Tay_PJT Don't think it's got a chance given its geographic location or associated species, regardless of where it has come from. From someone's back garden or half way across the world? Impossible to know with waterbirds.
English

@MidlandsBirder I think it’s unlikely it will ever get accepted as cat A?

Richardson's Cackling Goose on Grimley-Church Farm this morning, then flew towards riverside fields when flushed by a dog. 8 Pintail (5m,3f) was a good count for Grimley with Wigeons on riverside fields. Prob my highest count here #WorcsBirds

@Baractus @oliver_paisey @slimbridge_wild @Nickgoatman Thanks John. Agree, shape wise, it is 'just' a Tufty and doesn't really resemble TDxRCP. Erythrism? Fantastic looking bird
English

@oliver_paisey @MidlandsBirder @slimbridge_wild @Nickgoatman This looks like it could be an aberrant Tufted Duck to me. It seems to lack the look of Tufted x R-c Pochard & structurally it's pretty much identical to a standard male Tufted. This photo is from Saturday.

English

From earlier today @slimbridge_wild:
Highlight was the hybrid Tufted x Red crested pochard in the Eider pool.
Also, 1 Grey plover from ET, Spoonbill on TNP, 16 Tundra beans + Pink footed goose on Dumbles, Water rail, 3 Marsh harriers, 2 Buzzards. #GlosBirds

@WyreJason Was the LSW a 'confirmed' LSW or just a merlin heard only? Good record if you managed to confirm it so please do submit the record if you can
English

Definitely felt like Spring is on the way this morning. Five minutes into the early morning dog walk I had gold crest, lesser spotted woodpecker etc on my Merlin list. @RSPBEngland @WorcsWT

Adult Kittiwake Chapter Meadows, Worcester, viewable from Slingpool Walk.
It looks wrecked #Worcsbirds

@AndrewGibb8366 Thanks. There was a massive Aythya flock off Rainbow Corner on my last visit... but only four Tufted, a couple of Goldeneye and 7 Goosander there today! Thankfully the roost made the visit worthwhile
English

@MidlandsBirder @bobhazell @STWDraycote @Draycotebirding Hi Craig. If no reply from Bob, I’d suggest (if accessible) Rainbow Corner for the Scaup and Valve Tower for the RBM (based on past experience). Good luck.
English

Still 3 Great Northern Diver @STWDraycote. Also Red-breasted Merganser, Scaup, 60 Lapwing, 15 Goosander, Siskin, Chiffchaff, Raven, Wigeon and my first Bullfinch(3) and Mistle Thrush of the year at the site. Heronry filling but no sign yet of any Little Egret. @Draycotebirding

English

@bobhazell @STWDraycote @Draycotebirding Thanks Bob. No luck with either sadly. Has assumed they may have been in Toft. Tried scoping from south shore but too distant to nail
English

@MidlandsBirder @STWDraycote @Draycotebirding Scaup in Toft Bay south of the hide. RB Maeganser along Farborough Bank towards Toft.
English

A great roost at @Draycotebirding, the adult Glaucous arriving late on, adult Med Gull, 2 Caspian (1w,3w) 2 YLG and 3 GND.

@WombourneNature Thanks mate. Truly unbelievable in Worcs nowadays!
English

UNBELIEVABLE! 9 Tundra Bean Goose, 74+ White-fronted Goose and Pink-footed Goose among hundreds of Geese south of Upton upon Severn!! Park in UoS, view only from PROW.#WorcsBirds

English

@andyshawbirds1 Thanks Andy. Putting on a real performance for us!
English

Would have been rude not to drop into Whites Wood, Baggeridge CP between jobs where the Firecrest was showing instantly on arrival thanks to @ianbutlerphoto. Feeding in a holly in front of us for ages, showing well, hovering all the time. Bonus Tawny Owl nearby :) @Staffsbirdnews

English

An ultra rare visit to @Draycotebirding between jobs today. Caspian Gull showing nicely in the roost off Hensborough Bank and 2+ YLG. Always enjoy so many Common Gulls. Great Northern Diver still in the middle of the Res. 694 Tufted, 11 Goldeneye and 4 Goosander

Something to celebrate - our 2025 Lesser Spotted Woodpecker report - successful breeding season, the most nests monitored & highest number of chicks fledged per nest since we started in 2015. Acoustic monitoring giving amazing results too, thanks everyone woodpecker-network.org.uk/images/L_S_W_N…

@MidlandsBirder Thanks mate. If by “getting a hang of” you mean taking 500 photos and picking one… then absolutely 🤪
