@yumeni_kasuga I don't think the light world has to be made of dark as a material to be wholly fake. It already is fake purely by virtue of being the setting of the video game, which itself is aware of that fact

ive been very iffy on the idea of the light world being wholely fake/made of dark, but i always thought it might be a very clear direction the game is heading in because of how many loose ends it ties up
baldur@gonergnostic

@Lookie444 if you want like a tl;dr i think a lot of the imagery and symbolism in dr suggests that darkness is a kind of primordial substance underlying the material world

The way she (& the glitch statement & the general nonblack fandom response to the situation) feel the need to le epic newgrounds sarcasm aurafarm over issues regarding the safety and wellbeing of black people demonstrates an inconsiderate level of emotional distancing from racism

@fuedalreese Noticed this in her 2020 blm tweet people are pulling up too. Aggressive repugnance to racism is ofc needed, but the way she approaches it is so hyperbolic as to be unserious, and completely avoids showing sympathy for black people affected or acknowledging her own behavior

@ISuney In 2019 everyone was saying 2012 was "before people knew better, unlike now". It's 2026 and everyone is saying 2019 was "before people knew better, unlike now". In 2033 everyone will be saying 2026 was "before people knew better, unlike now".

My experience as a black person online is that somehow no matter how much time passes somehow racist behavior will always be a totally valid thing to do “back then” even when it clearly wasn’t

Response is equivalent to "Stupid black people, Michael is a common English name! Therefore, the person making jokes about a hypothetical man named 'Mike Hock' isn't making any kind of sexual joke at all! They're just laughing at the name for no particular untoward reason".

@Xingu1arity_ People genuinely think black people are too stupid to understand homophones. They do this literally every time something happens like this where someone uses a word that sounds like the n word as a euphemism for the n word.

I feel it's not very hard to comprehend the fact that the word "Nega" not actually being racist does not change the fact that people using that word to make jokes about *that* racial slur are still racist themselves/are doing something racist

@psycogenicFugue Alphys in many ways metatextually represents the kind of fandom person who might play undertale. Guy Who Hates That Type Of Person thus refuses to engage with that character's deeper nuances and resents the game for daring to ask them to sympathize with her. Many such cases.

Gave this an earnest shot and then instantly tapped out on the fourth paragraph when it said that Alphys' entire character in Undertale was just being a one-dimensional anime nerd and I realized this critique is not operating in good faith or worth listening to
homerjsimpson@homerjahsimpson

i wrote this extensive critique about the current most popular indie rpg and the most prolific auteur in gaming. if you are interested, give it a read. considering theres next to no criticism of this game online, nor its creator, its worth a look. greedykeeblerelf.blogspot.com/2026/03/a-crit…

@aba_baba_gar It doesn't matter if it was shot on the original set, that's not what's being argued here. Their point is that it's not like the episode just features actors from dropout playing fictional roles. The Real Life Company itself is portrayed as materially benefitting from cops

@DI_Doughnut They didn't use Dropout's actual studio tho?? Sam talked about the collab on a Superfan stream, he said that the production crew at the show built their own version of the set from scratch

rip to the ppl who for some reason kept trying to argue that this was 'just some actors appearing in another show' and not Dropout The Company, despite the Game Changer set being right there, only for the scene to begin with a big shot of a sign saying DROPOUT STUDIOS LMAO

@OlitanCarlos Using an aggressively misogynistic trope without deconstructing it = inheriting it's misogyny. Something being misogynistic because it's based on The Misogyny Stories doesn't absolve it or the origins of criticism. People criticized those old tropes then and they still do now.

@fetwtconfession I don't get why FE specifically gets flack NOW for 'damsel in distress' when its roots are romanticized medieval tales where knights rescuing princesses and such are common. There is a reason it is a noticed trope. And plenty of the women already fight in your army anyway.

“I never understood how tourists say SoV is sexist when the only reason Alm is able to slay Duma is because of Celica making Mila unseal Falchion for him with her sacrifice. And no, Alm being a cool guy and rescuing Silque, Clair and Tatiana isn't misogynistic either.”

@KKellypounder It says you can pick none, I'm assuming that'll make a mii that's never romantically interested in anyone and undateable for any other mii. Hopefully gender/dating preferences can be edited after initial creation. This should make it easier to get specific miis together :)

@DynamoSuperX I’m also wondering on if all three can be turned off if you’d rather someone not fall in love with anybody, or if it could be changed at will (to force relationships bc they don’t have anyone else to choose)

@Panta_MMA Considering Ozzy's passed, the grandma believing this is real would mean she'd be mourning him with the context that they've met before. I feel like that obviously causes more distress. I'd certainly be more upset about a celebrity dying if I had a real life experience with them.

The comments on this are all about how sweet it is and I feel insane. Using AI to make fake memories of your grandma with dementia and telling her they happened and then filming her reaction

@Brocklesnitch And now she's probably gonna move through the end stages of her life mourning a man she thinks she knows, rather than a celebrity she's never met and was just a big fan of. Genuinely terrible

@xgigglypuff I think because a lot of Christians view the Bible as a singular chronological account of real events, some develop this very narrow-minded view where they're unable to see it as piece of literary text. To them, it's probably akin to citing a source simply to say 9/11 happened.

I’m not sure why people outside of academia are convinced that you’d be banned from a liberal arts university if you referenced the Bible. At Harvard, I took an entire class on the Bible, and my knowledge from my religious upbringing paid off. You can learn about and discuss the Bible. You just can’t say “The Bible told me so” as your only evidence for an argument and expect to get a good grade in a psychology class. You have to intellectually engage with the material…. 🤦‍♀️
