That's the system that keeps us all from a new civil war every 50 years. And now our dysfunctional system has kicked enough gears that failsafe is dead.

@PalmerSethu @KyleKulinski I think you're missing the point. Neither side is justified because there is no justice left. Doesn't matter why... when you prove to enough people that justice isn't being served by the Judiciary they start enacting justice themselves, even against the judiciary. That's BAD.

@struggledkiller @kenshirotism I kinda agree with this. Like I read the comics and... bounced... because there's just... no-one to like. When everyone's a piece of shit you just don't care anymore. The Boys in the comic have... pretty much zero redeeming quality. Why would I watch that show?

This ultimately is what killed the show. Because they decided to make Homelander just "the Trump allegory", they couldn't let The Boys actually be evil. The entire point is that they are substantially worse than the Seven. And Butcher is a maniac barely in control of himself.

I suppose ideally that would probably be the best, although I've had enough encounters with 'public housing' (as in living in it) to know that it's not really a foolproof solution either. Personally, I probably wouldn't evict him either, but the smoking is a health issue.

But in this scenario just don't evict a 73 yr old over cigarettes? have them hash it out w/neighbors?

But this doesn't sound like that... it just sounds like a sad condemnation of social safety nets.

Fun fact about something I picked up on in The Odyssey trailer. At one point Robert Pattinson says that Tom Holland is yearning for his "DADDY" to come home. Tom responds and says something like "My DAD will come home" Something about that felt off to me. So I looked it up. The Odyssey is set in 1200 B.C. The word "Dad" wasn't invented until 1500 A.D. I think that's why it feels so off. The word used wouldn't have been invented for another 2700 years.
