A family member admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics just told me the RN took "2 hot sauce bottles of blood" which is how i will be referring to blood cultures from now on.

H. cinaedi is an enterohepatic helicobacter. These organisms are zoonoses and can rarely cause bacteremia, usually in immunocompromised patients.

9:51 am - the request we put in 6 weeks ago for polypropylene aliquot tubes is being cancelled
10:10 am - it was cancelled bc that tube manufacturer is now out of business
