For people with #pancreaticcancer, pain can come from the disease itself or from its treatment. The good news: pain can often be managed, and support is available. Addressing pain early can improve both quality of life and the ability to continue treatment. 💜
So, what can patients do to manage pain?
💬 Talk with your doctor early — don’t wait until pain becomes severe, early intervention makes it easier to control
📓 Keep a pain journal — track where the pain is, how it feels, how strong it is, how long it lasts and what makes it better or worse
👩⚕️ Explore supportive care — pain and symptom management specialists can work alongside your care team to ease discomfort and improve outcomes
💊 Consider treatment options — pain medicines (such as non-opioids, opioids, or nerve pain medicines), medical procedures like celiac plexus block or treatment of the tumor itself through surgery, radiation or chemotherapy
💆♀️ Try non-drug approaches — some patients find relief with acupuncture, relaxation, massage, hot or cold compresses, meditation or physical and occupational therapy
Pain is personal, but you don’t have to face it alone. PanCAN Patient Services can help you understand your options and connect you with resources for personalized support ➡️ pancan.org/facing-pancrea…
