Bollox, just stop theiving every penny you can from us...all we want to if support our families, yet you take, take, take. Carbon taxes are only meant to manipulate, coerce, cajole and punish the People of Ireland...they are an unjust tax and outright theivery. They are to be abolished as axmatter of justice, not an act of "compassionate relief." That would a good faith start to dialogue.

We are living through an unprecedented global energy crisis. We know the pain, the stress, and the very real financial pressure that so many across the country are feeling as a result of this. As a government, we hear you, we have acted, and we are taking further action.

You're not understanding the issue...we don't want supports, we work hard for our money and do so willingly that we may provide for our families. What we want if fo Govt to stop theivery every fuckin penny the can from us. Abolishing the carbon tax, it in an unjust tax meant to manipulate, coerce, cajole and punish the People of Ireland. It is to be abolished as an act of justice, not an act of 'compassionate relief.'

Waking up to kids soccer and basketball cancelled today due to fuel uncertainty. Likely school-bus cancellations tomorrow. Then school tours and trips for matches etc. You don't win popular support by messing with people's kids.

Huge protest in Wexford, near Gorey. Big convoy of vehicles has come down from Wicklow to join them. N11 blocked in both directions, overpass closed and a massive number of tractors parked up. This is far from over 🇮🇪

It's a bit ironic that the official language being used before the heavy-handed approach to ending the fuel protests, phrases like, they are unelected, they have no popular mandate, they are acting outside the law, were probably also used against those who took the GPO in 1916

We recognise and understand the pressures that have arisen due to rising fuel costs on all families and businesses. I am very conscious that we must support people, protect key services and make critical investments. This package is a significant response to real pressures.

This is bad form by the powers that be, but then again I have been told that they were breathalyzing people last night when they hopped into their tractors and trucks to move them, Today posts like this are stating their trucks have been impounded, JS Tree Surgery is not a trouble maker they had an add up for a tree surgeons in February so are an employer, for them to go out on the fuel protests meant their business was in jeopardy because of the fuel increases. JS Tree Surgery is at Docks Galway Harbour. This week has been one of the hardest I’ve ever faced. I’ve spent days and nights down at the docks in Galway, standing with the people of Ireland for fairness and for the right to make a living and feed our families. But it’s come at a real personal cost. I haven’t seen my kids since last Wednesday, and that’s something that’s been weighing heavily on me every single day. This morning, we were removed peacefully no trouble, no arguments. We were told we could go back to our trucks, thinking at least we could get back to work and start putting things right. But instead, the trucks were seized, and now we’re left in limbo. We don’t know when we’ll get them back, what fines we might be facing, or how much it’s going to cost us just to return to work.People aren’t seeing this side of it. They’re not seeing the families affected, the stress, the uncertainty, or the reality of being stopped from earning a living again tomorrow. #irelandfuelprotest

And as is becoming more and more evident the government has handed policy making over to a few select NGOs, all of whom have an agenda which might not align with public opinion or with the public good. Civil servants seem to be complicit in this. Makes life easier.... @MichealMartinTD @SimonHarrisTD @RTE_PrimeTime

This is a must read from @davidmcw “Is Ireland the worst run country in Europe?” The figures in this article are mind blowing . No accountability in the Senior echelons of Public Service. No wonder people are angry. #fuelprotests

Sent in and anything sent to me will always be kept 100% private I'm a manager for a children's residential housing children seeking international protection mostly Somali. We give them 45 euro per week flat. Then they get all their clothes, food, travel gym etc paid for by us. We keep kids from 16 until they turn 18. Most of them look 25+ and its barely questioned. I recently found out that when they turn 18 get given €2200 per month plus a once off payment of €1500 to secure private rental accommodation. Please don't disclose my name. Both the tusla social workers that are over these 'children' and I were absolutely disgusted when we found out the money they get. They get more that some of my staff Worse than the money they get. These people have absolutely no intention of integrating in irish culture. They only hang around with other somali people. They all congregate around the mosque on the north circular road. They mock Christian holidays and demand we celebrate Muslim holidays. I am not racist but my job has definitely made me more racist. Statistics say Somali are the lowest IQ people on the planet. Why do we keep importing these people who have nothing in common with our culture and have no intention of doing so? At least the Nigerians will mingle with irish people and actually express that they're proud to be irish.

Carbon taxes are not ring fenced for "climate" initiatives, as such they are an unjust form of punishment and outright theivery...they exist only to manipulate, chastise, coerce, and cajole the People of Ireland. They are to be abolished as a matter of justice, not as an act of compassionate relief.

No official statement from Govt on the precise breakdown of €500m additional fuel support package today, but we'd estimate around €80m will be the cost of deferring the 1 May 2026 carbon tax increase for six months. 10c extra discount at the pumps for June/July will possibly be €100m. A 2.4c reduction on the cost of heating oil is going to cost low €10m's. What's the rest? And how will it help hauliers and farm contractors tomorrow at the pin of their collars? And where are the direct subsidies promised? This has all the appearances of being cobbled together and made up on the fly. Maybe there's more to come, but can't see #fuelprotest being sufficiently satisfied to not resume protests in some format.
