I worry sometimes about how I will get meaning when I'm not producing something. I think it's just a state that we have put our minds in, similar to addiction and once we get no reward for the work, which is our measuring stick for validation, perhaps we can just learn to enjoy our families and contemplating existence. We'll see

Everyone who thinks AI slop will ruin code efficiency/performance is going to be so surprised when everything is absurdly well-optimized John Carmack style machine code.

Saw a post recently that I can't find now, guy said that someday soon there will be an inflection point after which humans won't even be allowed to code. Really succinct. Companies will see very clearly that man made code is inferior in every way and have no choice but to eliminate it.

Too early to tell right now but I wonder if History will look back at this $7.5-40B Anthropic/SpaceXai deal as the biggest unforced error of the AI era. Did the management team thought XAI was too far from the frontier to be a real threat ? Otherwise why give so much money to a direct competitor? Grok 4.5 is impressive and lands exactly where I thought it would few months ago: close to top intelligence at a fraction of the cost. Actually SOTA in quite few areas. There is a scenario in which users move to SpaceX for most token exchange and Claude is only used for the top tasks. Meaning Anthropic massive growth would be transferred to SpaceXAI. This would seriously complicate their IPO & ability to produce SOTA after that (need compute $$$). During that time SpaceXAI is getting their datacenters reimbursed, premium data and gets to build the space AI infrastructure with the money.

@Cruchanger @elonmusk @ThomasAlxDmy The mistake you're making is assuming he meant the SpaceX stock. I'm pretty sure he means the value is the real world that SpaceX will bring to humanity. Nothing to do with money or stock. Everything to do with bringing us an amazing future on and off earth. That's my take.

Landon Donovan says America is missing soccer talent because kids can’t afford to play. “Only 2% of kids playing organized soccer in America came from households that made less than $50,000.” “If you don’t make $50,000, your kid cannot play organized soccer.” “Think about how many kids you’re missing out on in this country because they can’t afford to play the game.” “There is zero chance I could have played club soccer.” “My mom made $34,000 a year, single mom raising three kids.” “She couldn’t pay $4,000 for me to play club. Are you kidding? She couldn’t pay $400.” “That’s not a good system to create good players.”

In the Trump Administration, we believe every American child should have a stake in their country's future. One way we’re making that happen is through Trump Accounts, which give $1,000 to every American child born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028. Trump Accounts make it easy for parents to set their children up for success — with a simple app and a policy designed to benefit hardworking American families. Thank you, President Trump and our great Treasury Secretary @SecScottBessent!

.@VP: "You will hear a couple small but loud voices today speak obsessively not of our national greatness, but of our national imperfections... They will tell you that America is just another country where the weak struggle against the strong, and if they acknowledge that there is anything to be proud of in our history, they’ll say it’s the fact that sometimes the powerless have won a zero-sum battle. They’re wrong..." "What I’d ask you to do, my fellow Americans, on our 250th birthday, is to reject the two dimensional view of your fellow citizens, and reject the two dimensional view of your country. Reject that America is a place for zero-sum thinking, because it is not. Our history is one of people carving a great civilization out of the wilderness. Reject the view of your nation that sees only its sins, but not its grace and its greatness." 🇺🇸

@thejefflutz @SawyerMerritt @k3vin11 I like it. The range is lame for the battery size, but I like the concept. With the no frills approach I bet they could get it down to $20k if they can behave like Tesla and vertically integrate and scale.

@rebeccatrinidad @VaibhavSisinty More compute for humanity. Less energy required on earth for data centers therefore less fossil fuels burned. The heat is not pointed at earth but rather into deep space (where it was headed anyways)

Okay this is genuinely insane. SpaceX just unveiled a satellite whose only job is to run AI. Not internet. Not GPS. Just compute, floating in orbit. It's called AI1, and the reason behind it breaks your brain. AI data centers on Earth are hitting a wall, not a chip wall, a physics wall. They need staggering amounts of power and water just to stay cool, and we're running out of grid and land to build them. So Musk's answer is: stop building them on Earth. In orbit, the sun never sets. Free power, 24/7. No water for cooling, you just radiate heat into the vacuum of space. The two things choking AI on the ground barely exist up there. And here's the wild part: Musk says it's easier to build than a Starlink satellite. Strip out the complex antennas and it's "a lot of solar cells, a radiator, and some laser links." One AI1 carries the compute of an Nvidia GB300 rack, the same hardware data centers fight over down here. AI1 is just the first one. The plan is a constellation of up to a million of them. And the timing isn't an accident, SpaceX goes public this week at a ~$1.75 trillion target. This isn't a rocket company anymore. It's positioning itself as the power grid for AI, in space. The race for AI compute just left the planet. Literally. @SpaceX

i had this insane realization when i was a kid though, the normie lives in la la land its all smoke and mirrors. The normie knows he isn't gonna be good at anything, because he doesn't have the grit to go beyond surface level stuff, thus he has to develop a coping mechanism to make himself feel better aka surround himself with all the distractions and lies the world has to offer.
