Maryland has 1 more T20 win. The SOS is fair, and perhaps the committee chooses to value it.
However, Maryland went 1-6 against T10 teams. The schedule allowed them to be in the mix with 7 wins. One more win and Maryland is in without question. They couldn't get over the hump

Look, I'd pick Maryland to make the Final Four if they got in lol.
But if you were really a Final Four team, you wouldn't be on the bubble. You'd be in the tournament. 1-6 vs T10 teams says it all. One more win and Maryland is in easily. They didn't get it

Basically:
If the committee chooses to punish Duke for their terrible non-con SOS, I will have no issues. And you can make a good argument that it's better for the sport to not encourage that SOS
But it would be acting a little outside the purview of the selection criteria

•I'd be surprised if @DukeMLAX gets left out. With a 2nd Top 20 W, their quality win profile no longer feels historically unprecedented, just rare. And to the SOS argument, Harvard & Ohio State were selected in ’25 with SOS rankings lower than Duke's is right now.
